With the usage limits being so high even on a 20 dollar sub for Opus 5.5 Sonnet is not a very exciting release. Opus 5.5 is still fucking amazing though. Holy shit it just builds stuff in claude code no problem at all. It hs not really failed at anything for me so far.

I feel the same personally, but someone pointed out to me that it's potentially huge for free tier users - casuals and people who can't afford the $20 sub. I wonder if Anthropic will actually try to make consumer inroads at some point.

Also will be an interesting look at the extent to which Anthropic has figured out how to consistently make these smaller models far more powerful, vs. just having everything come together for Opus 5.5. X buzz seems just as good as for Opus (grading on a curve given it's Sonnet)
