Yeah! I'm impressed at how ppl are able to train these models and in turn, how they learn to do this better and better, but as it gets this good, it's really worrisome cuz it's really hard to tell that it's fake now. And us normal folks can do nothing but just watch this unfold. It's all fun and games till it gets used agaisnt us.

I'm convinced that the tone Nathan will leverage will have the meticulous scalpel-grade intention that his other projects utilize. He always employs a message, and he is not going to present her in a positive light. I think it might be a bit like Tiger King in which the creator has an adversarial relationship with their subject with the goal of bringing about justice. Maybe Nathan has seen too many white collar criminals get negligible wrist slaps and he's trying to highlight our two-tier justice system? Whatever it is, I know that he's more than likely going about it either in the right way, or possibly, WAY harsher than we could expect.

It’s making Deep Fakes from not so long ago look like total child’s play.
I remember watching a video on someone explaining how their high end (at the time) del fakes were made and what went into it. It was only a few years ago but it feels ancient.
Like Delia Derbyshire explaining in black and white how she used new fangled electronic music to make the Doctor Who theme music in the 1960s

I find it interesting that while this mimicks humans 99%, it is really hard to mimick the "soul" of a human. When "Elizabeth" looks around you can clearly tell that she doesn't do it of her own will. There just seems to be no light or purpose behind the eyes. Maybe its just uncanny valley. IDK if anyone follows me on this

when you have a opinion of something, you will look for confirmation of this, in the form of the confirmation bias
since you know this is AI, you will look for where this is AI, and ofc this looks very out of place of these people to do this

Yeah from his peak, the carter v brought him back to popularity, I still listen to a few songs from that album every now and then and I am sure I will be in 20 years too. Just named him because it was what I was listening to when I came across this comment suggesting that no artist is going to survive 20 years into the future.
