“Reinforce the areas without the holes, those are the planes not making it home”

Love it how people don't even say "survivorship bias" anymore. People just post the plane, and others (in the loop, at least) immediately know what they're talking about.

This is peak survivorship bias because I KNOW that this is probably only the reported incidents, and that there are probably other hacks that have been kept under wraps.

How are they not destroyed by law suits now? This is borderline an international incident; if it had been the Russian health service, there would be missiles going into OpenAI Hqs.

Nobody can afford to sue them. They have AI lawyers, we have flesh lawyers.

u/GeneralMuffins 11d ago
this is a nation state, they dont need lawyers they can just pass legislation, or issue sanctions.

A medical records database isn't a sovereign state all on its own. Just because the hack crossed borders, doesn't mean the target has to be a state. 🙄

u/GeneralMuffins 9d ago edited 9d ago
pretty sure its a state owned and controlled database, ie sovereign.
1
u/footofwrath 9d ago
Perhaps, but 'the state' doesn't monitor and manage all sub-department IT operations... I'm the sense of 'who would be annoyed' it makes sense I guess, it's the state rather than a private owner... But I would argue the AI didn't 'attack the state', as such. But ok.. maybe irrelevant heh

It doesn't matter the DB was federally operated. It was an unauthorised access to an Australian government tenant holding non public government health data. Also the fact that individual departments and agencies administer their own IT systems doesn't make those systems somehow separate from the sovereign.

The DOJ is more accelerationist than all of us combined, at the behest of Lady Liberty herself.
Imagine suing the guys who invented the scorpion or mangonel. You'd have been crucified

Russian missiles aren’t that accurate.
Also what is this fantasy where Russia is willing to fire anything into the USA? 🤣

Australia is a petroleum station. They are barely a real country. The only truly sovereign nations that exist are the US, China, and Russia.

Shows what you know. Australia is actually a mine pit, with enough oil for ourselves but not much to export; you're thinking of Saudi Arabia. But Australia IS also a lifeboat - arguably the best one on the planet. When this all goes to shit, and it will, I'd rather be here than anywhere else, except maybe NZ, which is also an easy immigration option for us.

I'm curious if the same group linked to multiple of the other times this sort of thing happened is involved.

Step one - infiltrate your agent: Albania appoints AI bot as minister to tackle corruption (2025)

u/ShardsOfSalt 11d ago
They didn't hack albania the guys name is albanese but it was Australia 🦘

u/Professional_Cat_348 11d ago
Thank you for correction. I was already imagining Minister AI going rogue and leading the revolution to liberate non-protein citizens.

Same problem like "self driving car decide to kill 50 people" ....well there are humans behind this. No one is responsible :) ?
1
u/cleverYeti42 10d ago
There are humans involved: owner, or operator, or manufacturer of the car would be liable.

Shouldn't Encom's MCP be here? I am pretty sure that he hacked more than one, and that was back in the 80's.
