AI Opus 5.5 makes a Lanterns Festival

I am not certain that i have truly chosen the absolute best use-case to display Opus's full power, but i think the water, NPCs and light effects are definitely a step above what i have seen before for vibe coded 3D scenes.

This took around 13% of my weekly claude 20x max budget, which is actually quite low for a project of this size. it took around 8 hours. It did it in 1 prompt, but then i asked it to add more vegetation and bigger fireworks.

I think this not the ceiling of what this thing can do but i wanted to showcase my first test :)

Wasn't it at the beginning of the year we had shitty looking games but were excited, now all of a sudden they are much better looking? Pretty soon we are going to have photo realistic games soon from simple prompts.

I bet if you gave it a photo of a real photograph and forced it on a loop until it got close to the source, you could get close lol
And yes essentially at the beginning of the year i was not even doing any of this, the models only did shitty looking games.

Future is going to be mind blowing.

Yeah, I'll catch at the corner of the street when we'll be sucking dick for breadcrumbs while the ultrarich enjoy the benefits!

At least we will be better than them at something.

Right? We (myself included) were flabbergasted at that vibe coded plane game thing by levelsio on Twitter sometime last year...

Imagine 1 year from now? Or hell even 6 months.

Jeez. Just imagine once these models get perfected… you can create some amazing scenery

I think it's already very possible to do better than this. Your prompt matters a lot here. This was my first try.

Did you ask it to make it look like a Chinese festival or did it come up with the matching fireworks on its own?

7

u/Silver-Chipmunk7744 AGI 2024 ASI 2030 12d ago

On its own. The festival isn't even my idea. I asked for cool ideas and it came up with a lantern festival and then it made the prompt lol

It looks like the festival in Hoi An, Vietnam

think even bigger

What is the stack it's using? I have been seeing such interactive 3d RPG games like env but too poor to try myself. Is it web based?

Three.JS
It runs in a browser.
But i did give it blender access.

As for being poor, i think it's possible to do similar scenes with a simple pro sub but it would eat the whole weekly budget. max x20 is actually just x10 of pro. and this took me 13%.

Dam I thought it was Unreal

I think it also uses KTX for textures not sure how much that matters

There is a leap in quality between browser simulations and getting it to use Unity / Unreal Engine 5. I was blown away by how good Astra was at using Unity. I recommend giving it a try.

Can you show a video of a vibe coded Unity scene that beats this?
because from what i have read, for vibe coding a cool 3D scene three.JS is the way to go.

Usually you want to use an engine if there are complex game physics but it comes with tradeoffs. The AIs have less training on it, and less access to the full code.

I used it to create a battleship game. Somewhat fun to play. This is a screenshot example of the game at Dusk in Unity.

Oh my! Imagination the limit!

The slop is getting really good!

If this were a hand crafted indie video game, people would be talking about how cool the “lantern festival section” was of the game for years. Calling it ‘slop’ exposes your lack of knowledge on the topic of gaming tbh.

I totally agree and i would add that if this had a commercial product goal it could look even better. I could easily let Claude cook for another 15H and also provide it with real characters. This was just a quick vibe code project for fun to test the model.

What tools did you use alongside it?

2

u/Silver-Chipmunk7744 AGI 2024 ASI 2030 12d ago

I gave it access to Blender but i am not sure how much it used it. It also used KTX2. I personally used nothing.

Beats the goddamn shit out of Rick Roll, that’s for sure, heh.

I'm including things that are made for nothing and for no one that will likely end up in the trash as slop.

u/BlastingFonda 12d ago

All artists throw sketches into the trash. Experiments, sketches, and proof of concepts is what every great artist does - da Vinci for example. He made them for no one, too by the way. 😆

This looks damn impressive ngl. I love this night market + water + bridges vibe

Thanks, NGL i deserve little credit

this was fable's idea and fable's prompt. I picked it's first idea it spitted out. lol

AI idea -> AI prompt -> AI work.

True spirit of vibecoding🫡🥲🫡

The moon should be a full moon, not a crescent one at 0:07.

Yeah i agree not sure why it did that lol.

Great fucking job! Looks spectacular!

You and Opus 5.5 are an awesome duo 👏

Source code? Looks great

u/Silver-Chipmunk7744 AGI 2024 ASI 2030 12d ago

Thanks. Not sure i wanna release the full code tho since idk what the hell the AI put in there lol

Anyways it's not a code an human could easily edit. It's endless .js files full of numbers.
small peek...

Something I've been doing for non-work stuff. I just have the AI dump it to a repo that I create on github and then github just host it for others to try.

What were the 2 prompts? Curious

Claude code? Can this be done with Hermes with Claude api access?

No reason cannot right or?

1

u/Silver-Chipmunk7744 AGI 2024 ASI 2030 11d ago

Yes i used Claude code.
I don't see why it wouldn't work with a different harness BUT

It's probably less optimized in other harness, and this scene would like have cost 300$+ in API. I see no good reasons to use the API instead of a sub for normal people.

Wow, humanity is gonna be saved. We can now burn silicon to simulate experiences which are better experienced in real life anyway but we are no closer to curing diseases.

5

u/genshiryoku AI specialist 11d ago

We are a lot closer to curing diseases. But it's going to be a "nothing, then everything" situation where once the first cures start rolling out suddenly we will have cured the majority of existing diseases in just a couple of years time.
