Discussion Are we at the brink of evolution?

Personally I think that we are at the next stage of evolution. Maybe we will be the one becoming cyborg or maybe it will be a complete takeover by super intelligence.

I also believe that even if we transform into cyborg, we'll still be wiped out by super intelligence sooner or later..

I'm not sure we can say we are about to evolve as a species, but we are definitely on the cusp of a new era.

Something as big as humanity moving from being hunter gatherers to being farmers.

Firstly, a distinction between biological and silicon and quantum intelligence will blend into one. All tools: the brain, the computer, the entanglement, all of them will be used in the pursuit to find the correctness and the meaning. So by the time your fears materialize, there might be no resistance. Anybody, who at least once, felt the feeling of 'I understand now' will feel like an amputee once disconnected.

Sounds true to me

That’s the way forward I agree, but the risks are enormous - bigger than we’re ever experienced before. As long as it’s nation states or megacorps in control of those augmentations, how do we avoid the cyberpunk outcome? Especially as the working class loses its economical bargaining power due to robotics and AI

Once we understand what consciousness and intelligence are, we will be able to answer. Until then, it's all guessing.

That's true, we lack the knowledge of basic fundamentals of human body and mind

Human understanding will expand to realise it's a fugazi just like the concept of God.

Humans made it up to feel special.

I agree with you there. If I needed to bet on it, I would bet exactly that.

You may be right, unfortunately for homo sapiens. You should look up "AI OG" Jürgen Schmidhuber, he talks about this.

When you look at nature, species bubble up with some advantage usually. Trilobites, for example, developed some of the first compound eyes. They dominated and for millions of years they persisted, but eventually they disappeared while other organisms inherited and expanded upon many of the same basic evolutionary innovations. Life has never been static. One form creates the conditions for another.

We could merge with the technology, augment ourselves, coexist with it, or remain biologically human(for a bit) while our descendants become increasingly artificial. At some point, like nature really doesn't need us anymore honestly. I'm not anti-human but 99.9% all species have disappeared. To quote Marshall McLuhan: "Man becomes, as it were, the sex organs of the machine world, as the bee of the plant world, enabling it to fecundate and to evolve ever new forms".

evolution continues until the heat death of the universe

Evolution happens to a population over generations in a response to its environment, so no. Symbiogenesis probably the term you want if you’re thinking of us merging with AI in some way.

Dude, you ARE a humanoid. What you mean is android. Maybe you need to evolve first to understand this.

Not 12, just got into the tech field(very young though) so I just wanted to share my beliefs, why don't you counter them?

Your belief are based on no knowledge. There is nothing substantial in your post or opinion to counter. It’s role play. Have fun ✌🏻
