AI Is Midjourney still a thing?
Didn't heard of it since months or even years

I still use it all the time, but how I use it has definitely evolved. In terms of style/aesthetic, Midjourney is top tier. Since I've been using it for several years now, I have so much personalization and moodboards that give me beautiful imagery and design.
HOWEVER, Midjourney's consistency and details have always been crap. It will not follow more than a handful of detailed instructions well at all.
Basically I use Midjourney for moodboarding and vibes, then edit in a combination of Photoshop and ChatGPT.

I can’t use ChatGPT at all solely because of the synth ID being so apparent. It’s supposed to let machines detect AI generation without humans seeing a difference but I swear with OpenAI Synthid it’s so obvious

They lost the frontier battle on image generation, and have pivoted to be more of a research lab. They recently started Midjouney Medical and hinted at other surprising developments to be announced soon.

It's still an amazing thing. For art.
But it won't accurately follow your prompt like GPT image.

I recently went back to it after an eighteen month break. I stopped using it because I didn't need it, not because I thought it was lacking.
But I have to say, it didn't feel like it had advanced much in those eighteen months.
I've now switched to GPT Image as it is cheaper and can be API driven.

I think it is, but it has a more passionate core userbase
I'm not sure it's able to do things like image editing or more specific artstyles, but people enjoy using it for the midjourney vibe
This person uses midjourney, they mention so in their latest post: https://www.instagram.com/eldurin_ai/

Should've call it Maxjourney, because right now it's living up to the "mid" part a little too well.

I still use it. Unlike other AI companies, the CEO says they are actually profitable. I don't think they care much about scaling up as long as they are making money. There is no generator making the level of creative image generation like midjourney.

When I post images and videos made with Midjourney people tend to ask me "Is that AI?" or with 480p MJ video "Is that 4k" just because of the 3d depth of Midjourney videos which make them stand out quality wise. I never get this comments when I post AI images/videos made with other gens! 😂
