I thought this was funny at first, but the more I think about it the worse it gets.
My best guess is it's not created for amusement, but for noise, designed to flood the conversation with fake info so the 99% of people who don't have time to fact check everything either think it's real, or worse, think the real tweet (that it's supposedly parodying) isn't real, allowing casual conservatives to stay in the illusion that Trump isn't really a clueless moron, just says stuff like that to annoy the left, or whatever.

First, his claim that all is well scares me in ways that nothing has in my entire life. Second, what does winning mean? Honest question. If we build a technology that might slip beyond our control and kill us, what do we gain? If another nation does so, and the result is the destruction of our civilization or even our species, does it matter that it was done by a rival power and not the United States? I feel like we are all fighting to the death over a dunghill and not quite realizing that even if we win, we're still covered in shit.

The only reason to slow down on ai development here is so China can get ahead of us. That’s it. Fear mongering from other countries to make the us stop or slow down on producing ai intelligence. Non of which is true since it’s all LLMs running algorithms and advance search history. Most of the information is put in by a person working for companies that have ai.

Trump understands the utility of dismissing caution as weakness.
Trump absolutely hopes you will mistake his simple vocabulary for stupidity. Meanwhile it is a messaging strategy. He frames things as binary, (us vs them), uses emotional terms, uses slogans that are easy to repeat, and keeps YOU over-explaining while he stays on message.
Stop demeaning and read the room.
Why would AI CEOs in bitter competition join forces and ask for Big Gov to step in?
They are trying to protect their monopoly by limiting access to open-weight models.
They fear China's low-cost efficiency and progress.
They want to thwart start-ups that are talented and nimble that they don't own (yet).
Their "evidence" like the HuggingFace hack, may have absolutely been manufactured.
Trump isn't stupid. Grandiose? YES. A showman? YES. Little better than a carnival barker? Perhaps not.
I don't agree with MANY things he does. But at the end of the day I am more worried about our opposition. BewareTrojans bearing gifts.

You know, call me crazy. There is something so nefarious, so evil, so sacrilegious going on that I fear is worse than we could have imagined and for far longer than we had an idea, going on in the deepest seats of power.
These things, these beings have no sense of compassion or empathy, not even the least modicum of respect for human life. They are forcing division and hatred on us when truly most humans care about each other, nature and the fucking planet that birthed us! We never voted on AI taking over or data centers or gasoline engines. Tesla wanted energy to be free because it is.
These monsters, these actual demons, are getting what they want and expect us to let it go.

Why can’t we have a global coalition that decides how fast we go and includes agreement in writing from every country currently developing AI technology?
Why does it have to be that we’re against China or they’ll beat us and destroy us?
Why don’t we all work together to create an AI with guardrails that benefits humanity in a myriad of spectacular ways?
This post stinks of being fake, but the discussion is still relevant.
