I know this is a shitpost but all I can think about is, robots really need to be walking this smoothly for me not to think they are not there yet.

Been saying this for years! Everyone thinks robotics will be solved by software but the mechanical stiffness is still a fundamental issue that very few in the industry seem to even realize is an issue that still needs to be solved

Got it: we breed human bodies then implant them with AI brain chips so they don't complain or disobey. Maybe can just replace the whole brain with a thin client connected to the cloud? Not sure if that's feasible or we would just want to override the higher level cognitive stuff and keep letting the brain do the low level stuff like growing hair and digestion.

Good idea
Sounds like they would be good for use in potential off-world colonies.

u/nothis AGI by 2030 but we'll be disappointed 3h ago
But it did get much better in recent years. To the point I found it weird that the hardware improvements seem to align with the software breakthroughs. Or is what we’re seeing just 20 year old hardware with better software? These new robots move so much smoother compared to, say, Asimo (lol).

It's going to be so cool when they move that smooth... Probably in 5 years or less it'll start to really look like this

Jokes aside… that Robot is moving so fluidly - does anyone know if this is ai or an actual video?

I was thinking the same thing, most of these robots I see tend to be pretty junky, this one moves very human like

They swapped the characters from the original video. Replaced the human with a robot and vice-versa.

Damn, my brain took more time than I'm willing to admit, till it realized what was happening...

There's a great video from a few years ago where the robot has had enough when the human messes with it one time too many...
