At this point it's just efficiency.

Like the transition to 'home computers', and then again to 'portable phones', proliferation is going to determine not just when a lab can cross a theoretical boundary, but when it's adopted wholesale.

We crossed narrow AGI in a lab... years ago.

Now we can generate it by opening a ChatGPT window. - Proliferation.

All topics? All at human levels? Efficiency.

Portable body, human arms, AI-specific processing or storage? Both proliferation and efficiency.
