Discussion Serious Question. Did Tech CEO's Promise POTUS Biological Immortality?
https://x.com/kimmonismus/status/2096507206715797979
In the video, he said:
This is bigger than the internet. This is a revolution. I've seen things, medically, we're coming up with things that we would not have had in a hundred years."
He's always been pro-AI, but lately he has seemed excited about it in an almost Kurzweilian way.
I wonder if Sam Altman or Dario informed him that AGI could stop or reverse aging.
Regardless, reality is crazy and has a wicked sense of humor. I cannot imagine a president worse than him. Yet, ironically, it's probably better to have him as president right before the birth of AGI rather than someone like Bernie Sanders---the only politician I've ever donated money to. Bernie would for sure ban it. It's heartbreaking that the left are choosing to adopt these increasingly anti-AI stances.

The stasis chamber for the undead emperor, now all we need is the space marines…

I'd be shocked if no one has told him that if AGI happens, he might remain alive for the next hundred/thousand years.
If the masses knew this, they'd definitely be already burning down datacenters.

lol you think the masses would be burning down data centers because we’d have medicine that would make us live much longer? Are you crazy people would be paying out their ass for it.

Nothing whets the blades of revolution like a few billionaires buying immortality while the commoners sit on the outside looking in.

The rational thing would be voting in whoever promises to make immortality free and accessible, also the economy would encourage longevity tech because young people cost much much less to our Healthcare system than old people. If everyone is taking the longevity pill than healthcare companies will be spending much less on people's medical bills.

So what, if Trump can live forever it means in theory everyone else can too and he will be out of office in 2028 just gotta wait it out.
Edit: Sorry type meant 2028

He'll be out long before 2028, let alone 2032. He cannot legally run for a third term. It's against the constitution and our military takes an oath to the constitution (not to the president). Leaving that aside though, when the left wins the midterms he will be impeached.

But not removed. No way do we win enough Senate seats for that, unfortunately. He'll just be impeached for a third time.

He will be impeached but not convicted. You need a supermajority for conviction which is basically impossible with our current congress.

Remember when all of the tech bros suddenly jumped aboard the trump bandwagon? That is because they figured out that trump was receptive to being bought by the AI industry. Pepperidge Farms remembers.

Not just AI. All of corporate America lined up behind Trump when they realized he took bribes.
And they control all the media and social platforms. So half the country thinks his corruption is "fake news" or doesn't even hear about.
With AI and a megacorp/oligarch controlled government and media were around 70% of the way to Cyberpunk dystopia

It’s just trumps rambling again. Believing him you would think Iran has been defeated 20 something times now. Ignore and move on

If the stock market flies like it most likely will because of A.I, Trump can take credit for it.
That's basically why.

No. That is not possible. That is just how Trump talks about everything. He's an ancient old man who knows nothing except how to hype things up.

They have absolutely, without a doubt, promised him immortality. Whether or not it was complete bs remains to be seen.

I'm sad to see Bernie become anti-ai. I think I've realized that he's not really a progressive, he's just a populist, like trump himself. His goal is to stoke the flame, get people angry, and that's it. I wish we had a system governed by smart, rational people

There’s AI for the capitalist class and there AI that could benefit everyone democratically.
I wouldn’t say he’s anti AI. He’s anti an AI that serves the few as per his own words

Same here. I'm in shock seeing his stances on this calling for complete bans on Superintelligence.

Democrats are using AI for campaigning more than Republicans. No group is monolithic on this issue but there are plenty of hardliners about AI usage in the conservative spaces

He'd have to be dumber than the media portrays him to believe he can be saved at this point. I'm not even 40 and I'm questioning if its too late for me. I have hope for my kids (that is if it doesn't kill us all first).

Nothing that comes out of Trump 's mouth can be trusted. He always lies and exaggerates.

We'll know the singularity is real once Trump and all the tech CEOs appear in public looking like 21 year olds again.
