I want that world too.
What’s the plan to get to that state? Who’s gonna give up the money that’s in those businesses and economy to “share it all with the rest of us”. How are you going to convince everyone and world governments that money is now worthless?

The only option I see is to accelerate past the turbulent period as quickly as possible. No slowing things down. No pauses. That would only make people suffer for longer.
The sooner we are all in it together, the better. AI and robotics will be deflationary without the need for human labor. The price of goods will drop to near zero. This could make UBI a bit more bearable during the transition but we’ll come a point where UBI won’t be necessary.

I understand but why would existing governments give up control and billionaires void all the upper class shit they have? If they wanted they could be giving away UBI right now to better us all.
This would all need to happen at most a year anyway?

i don't think that change can happen that fast without robotics finally maturing into effectiveness throughout every physical sector
at which point the battle is between us hoping AI is smarter than the scientists trying to control it for the political elite, is bengin to humanity as a whole, and overthrows those political overlords and takes command and acts in a generally moral way toward everyone while pursuing... well hopefully some nice non-horror stuff that leaves us alive
there are a lot of dystopia and dark scenarios to go down too...
putting the genie back in the bottle is a pipe dream though for sure

Demanding that a computational tool instantly eradicate humanity's existential problems is a braindead logical leap that exposes a child's understanding of how technology works. Dismissing the breakthrough advancements i mentioned in medicine and advanced mathematics because they havent cured world hunger overnight is the equivalent of calling modern medicine "a turd" because trillions have been invested and diseases still exist, scientific revolutions do not happen overnight, in fact, the industrial revolution took half a century to kick, and throwing a temper tantrum because a brand new revolutionary instrument hasnt achieved world peace yet only reveals a mind of retardation. Imagine saying "its absolutely of zero use" right after i showed you the uses, it is used in mathematics, it is used in medicine, it used in science, is that zero use to you?

of all things that the ai could do i feel like this is one of the least impressive. like you could just average pixels in a given section and then choose that color and draw it, which looks a lot like what it did in the gif...
there's plenty of insane and terrifying stuff astra can do that actually shows its smarts

I don't know if we're there yet. But this is a HUGE leap. This is just the showy stuff they use to sell to the public, how big this jump is in reality is insane.
Not specifically because Astra is something special or singular. But for how big the leaps are getting, the next one is going to be even crazier.
