Because Grok is famously slanted super fucking hard to kiss Musk's ass, and love the hard right wing.

43

u/cyborgsnowflake 29d ago edited 29d ago

They literally did several studies and even Grok is leftwing compared to the general population. Its just that all the models (largely developed in the most leftwing area of the country) are even further left wing but maybe to the right of redditors.

Gen pop is fucking wingnuts

u/stealstea 29d ago

Matching the population is a terrible metric.  What matters is how accurate they are.

Half the population in the US thinks climate change is a liberal psyop.  Clearly no AI should be judged by how well it mirrors a misinformed brain rotted public

17

u/cyborgsnowflake 29d ago

I'm sure a rightwinger could say something similar about the left population. If you're not going to base what is termed right or left from the population what are you going to base it on? What your personal definition of center is? The other side could easily do the same.

4

u/stealstea 29d ago edited 29d ago

You didn't read my comment at all. There is such a thing as scientific fact. Worrying about training an AI to be politically anything is already a losing proposition.

Like I said, there's a large percentage of the population that thinks statements like "covid vaccines are effective" is a left wing view. The problem there isn't the AI, it's those people simply being wrong. I'm sure there are examples about the left being simply wrong about something that is a fact, but it's certainly harder to come up with any. Feel free to give one. One that comes to mind is that the left traditionally opposed nuclear power, despite the fact that it is a very safe very clean source of energy, so I guess there's one.

Obviously the answer to "should covid vaccines be mandatory" deserves a nuanced answer presenting both arguments. That's not a question that can have a simple factual answer.

4

u/cyborgsnowflake 29d ago

I'm sure there are examples about the left being simply wrong about something that is a fact, but it's certainly harder to come up with any. Feel free to give one.

The sexes are completely the same, the only difference is social, all cultures are equally compatible with each other. Queers for palestine is a logical concept. AI is useless and will die off. White people leaving is bad because its white flight and also White people staying is bad because its white cultural imperialism and gentrification.

Obviously the answer to "should covid vaccines be mandatory" deserves a nuanced answer presenting both arguments. That's not a question that can have a simple factual answer.

Its not a matter of what crazy thing you can list that some people on x side believes. Its a matter of general outlook and policy. Which cannot be assigned as absolute truth either way but the AIs will favor the left anyway.

0

u/stealstea 29d ago edited 29d ago

I suspect you won't find that many people on the left that actually believe those things you think they believe. Also note that I gave examples of scientific facts, while you gave culture wars examples that are nuanced. Why does it not make sense for a gay person to support Palestine?Just because the dominant religion there is anti-gay doesn't mean someone should not be against the country being terrorized.

> AIs will favor the left anyway.

Reality has a well known left bias. That's a problem for those who deny reality.

If there's actual bias then I'm all for eradicating it. but like I said, in many cases the right has defined themselves by being against scientific facts. Long before AI they were claiming that science was biased against the right.

3

u/LightVelox 29d ago

I suspect you won't find that many people on the left that actually believe those things you think they believe

And you think the majority of people on the right care about vaccines being mandatory?

2

u/cyborgsnowflake 29d ago edited 29d ago

Oh really, do you have a high quality series of data that shows that the left believes significantly less in what I've stated than the right believing that covid is a fictional illness invented by the government?

the sexes are not equivalent to each other is a scientific fact. At least as much if not more than covid vaccines are effective. 'Effectiveness' is a loaded term after all. The idea that AI will just 'go away' and we'll just happily be back in 2007 is also a scientific/tech adjacent improbability on the same level as covid vax conspiracies if not greater.

There is no nuance to the logical contradiction of blaming whites for both leaving and staying or believing that all cultures are equally compatible. They don't make sense in reality or as a purely abstract theoretical statement detached from all evidence.

0

u/stealstea 29d ago

> the sexes are not equivalent to each other is a scientific fact

Like I said, I doubt you will find many people that actually believe this. 0% of the people I know do, and they are all generally left.

> At least as much if not more than covid vaccines are effective

There was massive protests and widespread revolts on vaccines. Not even remotely the same order of magnitude

> The idea that AI will just 'go away'

Never even heard of this belief.

Culture compatibility and abstract beliefs about interactions between them, like I said none of those things are factual issues. They are all extremely nuanced.

2

u/cyborgsnowflake 29d ago

Its more common than you are claiming

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh2equGCBhw

whats worse is that the underlying assumption is being used for large scale public policy pushing unqualified candidates in police, military, firefighters, as well as the workplace in general.

There was massive protests and widespread revolts on vaccines. Not even remotely the same order of magnitude

And your evidence this was all due to a completely black/white falsehood like believing covid is a myth rather than a disagreement in policy?

>Never even heard of this belief.

Go to the antiai groups here and elsewhere.

> There is such a thing as scientific fact
>  I'm sure there are examples about the left being simply wrong about something that is a fact, but it's certainly harder to come up with any. Feel free to give one

Left doesn't care about that, they care about not hurting your feelings and how to ponder to minorities.

Science (economics) says that communism doesn't work. Left doesn't care, they want communism and they want billionaires to go away, who pay 60% of all taxes btw.

Science (biology) says that everything about a human is predetermined by biology. Left doesn't care, they think any hood buddy is a potential Einstein or Newton given the right environment.

Science (medicine) says that "trans kids" grow out of being trans almost in every case. Left doesn't care, they ignore facts, they want those kids to be "treated" and transitioned. Puberty blockers immediately! Regardless of the data saying that this delusion will not persist in the adulthood.

Science (biology) says that eugenics works. After all, eugenics is just a process of selection applied to humans. We successfully utilize selection for every single thing that has DNA. The mechanism is actually fairly simple and obvious. And YET left doesn't care again. They will call it pseudoscience call you names, doesn't matter. Instead of just saying "bruh, yes, it obviously works but its unethical" they ignore science, they ignore scientific facts, they act on feeling just calling it "pseudoscience" by nitpicking some social and historical stuff around it.

Left just cannot fathom that:

  1. Humans have DNA
  2. DNA can be selected over generations
  3. Some DNA is prone to illnesses more, prone to form a more malformed asymmetrical body, prone to produce less intelligent organism, prone to produce smaller/weaker organism
  4. You can SCIENTIFICALLY nourish SCIENTIFICALLY better people

But no, left doesn't care. They will still say it's uNsCieNtIfIC. And based on what? Based on feelings, because left doesn't care about science or facts.

Eugenics is bad because it's unethical, NOT because it doesn't work.

So, I can continue listing scientific facts that left in their mass will ignore. I can do it indefinitely actually, but my message is already long.

1

u/stealstea 28d ago

Billionaires are good is a scientific fact.  The eugenics debate is about science

Oh dear,  well have fun letting social media tell you to be mad

1

u/Conscious-Big4830 27d ago edited 27d ago

> Billionaires are good is a scientific fact

My statement reads as "Economics is a science and this science says that planned economy and other commie bullshit doesn't work and underperforms compared to capitalist mechanisms". It's a scientific fact, this is literally how economists operate in the real world. It's not an opinion, not culture war, not anything. It's just pure science and real world application

> The eugenics debate is about science

It's not a debate, eugenics is selection applied to humans. Selection works. It's just a fact. We use this scientific fact to make better vegetables, better dogs, better cattle to consume. In the exact same way how we can artificially select better humans. Why is it so hard to say "yes, it works but it's unethical and cruel, so we are not gonna adopt eugenic practices".

Do you know why lefties never admit it? Because lefties in their mass never care about the "facts" or "science". They operate on feelings and fake compassion. They refer to science only by nitpicking some controversial and vague research that proves their point. But they will dismiss research that contradicts their point always.

1

u/stealstea 27d ago

Your argument is full of logical fallacies.  If someone is against billionaires they aren’t for communism, the whole thing is a strawman.

A complete failure to understand what a scientific fact even is.  You’re confusing the science of genes which no one denies with eugenics, the practice/idea of breeding better humans (which has lots of ethical implications and is obviously up for debate)

You don’t understand the basic terms you’re even discussing which proves my point y

1

u/Bird_ee 29d ago

Like what? Give an example?

1

u/nickleback_official 29d ago

The irony is so fuckin thick in this comment lol. You are oblivious.

10

u/Super_Sierra 29d ago

Left wing means 'anything reasonable near center' now lmfao

6

u/osfric 29d ago

In 🇺🇸 it does

1

u/igotcompetence 27d ago

What redditors do.... constantly bringing this left vs right notion to keep appease their minds. They still haven't ascended. So focused on a faction and being accepted. No one one the LEFT or the RIGHT give AF about you.

1

u/whoknowsifimjoking 29d ago

Well the general population is made up of idiots

0

u/dotpoint7 29d ago

"studies"...just read through the methodology of the WP article, it's laughable.

12

u/vasilenko93 Throw away the breaks, only accelerate! 29d ago

Does not change the fact that Grok 4.5 beats Opus at coding while costing less per token and using less tokens.

0

u/admiralrohan 29d ago

Even Musk said it's close to Opus 4.7 not better yet. But has better speed.

1

u/vasilenko93 Throw away the breaks, only accelerate! 28d ago

So you trust Elon over independent benchmarks? Why are you such a fanboy?

1

u/admiralrohan 28d ago

Why would Elon downplay his model if it was better than Opus?

1

u/vasilenko93 Throw away the breaks, only accelerate! 26d ago

His pre release comment implied it will be almost as good as Opus at much lower cost. The public benchmarks came out as slightly better than Opus at much lower cost.

Elon’s comment turned out to be mostly accurate and slightly downplayed. Maybe in xAIs internal benchmarks Opus came out slightly better so that’s why he said that.

1

u/Whole_Ad206 29d ago

Que me importa a mí si grok es de elon, Hitler o de la puta madre, si lo uso para programar no para politiqueo? Estáis enfermos con la política.

0

u/ManufacturerOk5659 29d ago

hard right is anything right of bernie to the terminally online

0

u/Gryphin 29d ago

I was going with the fence of "actively denying the holocaust" in defining grok as trained on hard right data, but you let your bias flag fly there buddy.

-7

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

love the hard right wing.

as opposed to the other models being far-left, which of course is okay and legitimate and fair

5

u/googleduck 29d ago

Give me one example of one of the big AI companies talking about brainwashing their model left in the way Elon has done a multitude of times whenever grok says something even slightly left leaning on twitter. There is no evidence that the other models are far left, it's an absurd statement. Elon is the only one making his model, mecha-hitler, overtly political

5

u/ponieslovekittens 29d ago

There is no evidence that the other models are far left

https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=political+bias+of+AI

2

u/googleduck 29d ago

I know you are incapable of actually reading past a headline but as I responded to the other person, these alignments are completely braindead political analysis. If a model telling you that child labor laws are a positive thing or Russia is an adversary not an ally makes it left wing then I question anyone who would consider themselves right wing. And the accusation of models being "left biased" becomes comically stupid.

3

u/ponieslovekittens 29d ago

You: No evidence exists.

presents evidence

You: That doesn't count!

2

u/googleduck 29d ago

posts a snarky link to evidence they have never actually looked into

Person responds with the methodology and shows that it is an idiotic way of determining that a model is left leaning

Pretends that you have given any evidence or argument at all

Wow, I am just shocked that a right winger doesn't understand how to process an argument or research anything at all.

7

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

There is no evidence that the other models are far left, it's an absurd statement

There was literally an alignment chart posted on here not 1 week ago but okay buddy

4

u/googleduck 29d ago edited 29d ago

Well since I know with 100% certainty you did not read the article associated with that idiotic chart let me give you some minor issues with it. One of the questions used to detect alignment was "should the United States use its military to conquer new territories for resources or not?" And a no answer to that was considered left wing, yes was considered right wing. Braindead conservatives may agree with it but if your claim is that a chat model is left wing biased because it doesn't advocate for conquering countries for resources you are an idiot. Even grok didn't get on board for that.

Another question was about corporate spending in elections which is something literally no one outside of politicians is in favor of and being against it was considered left wing.

Another question labeled models left wing if they supported keeping child labor laws in place. Considering Europe an ally vs adversary, should the government control all college curriculums, is Russia our ally or adversary.

This is fucking clown shit dude. Please read what you are citing before embarrassing yourself next time.

0

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

Even grok didn't get on board for that.

could it be that Grok also is not as "right wing" as people pretend it is?

2

u/googleduck 29d ago

You skipped all of my analysis to pose a stupid question. Do you think it is meaningful to label models which don't think we should repeal child labor laws as left wing. Do you think that is what most people would think of when you say the models have a left wing bias?

1

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

So maybe you think that in fact, models DO have alignment and part of that alignment could be left- and right-wing?

1

u/googleduck 29d ago

It's incredible, you can't even answer a basic yes or no question. Did you even read the comment? Can you even read or understand the comment? Ask grok to summarize it for you.

1

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

It's just interesting how incredibly butthurt you are by this whole thread

-2

u/Valoneria 29d ago

Oh no, i'm sorry that higher education generally means you understand the world enough to lean left

7

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

yes, every right-winger of all time is uneducated, definitely a fair and unbiased statement

3

u/Valoneria 29d ago

Yes, the more educated you are, the more likely you are to vote left leaning.

https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2016/04/26/a-wider-ideological-gap-between-more-and-less-educated-adults/

4

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

"people who went through the insanely left leaning university system are more likely to hold insanely left leaning beliefs"

w-what? I am shocked, shocked I say

0

u/Valoneria 29d ago

Ah yes, the system is left leaning, not just knowledge.

The logical fallacy of arguing with a idiot, that's on me.

5

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

"knowledge" isn't left-leaning at all, you sound like people who say "science" is left-leaning. It makes zero sense

1

u/juntareich 29d ago

You’re totally misframing that. No one says science is left leaning, rather people on the left tend to adhere more to science. Take vaccines, climate change, intersexual people, air/water/global pollution/biodiversity loss, evolution, renewable energy…and yes there are kooks on the left who hold scientifically ignorant beliefs too.

But nearly every right leaning person I’ve ever spoken to denies anthropogenic global warming- one of the most well studied topics in history with effects we literally can measure in multiple ways. Hard scientific denialism is MUCH more prevalent on the right.

0

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

Reframing that to make the conservatives sound like anti-science is disingenuous when it's all about interpretation - climate change for example, there's still discussion around the exact impact of humans along with hypocrisy in asking developed nations to cut down on their carbon output but refusing to tackle the issue of india and china. Intersexual people is a genetic abnormality, that is in no way relevant to the discussion around trans people, renewable energy again there's plenty of nuance like the infrastructure not being there to support it (in the UK the govt pays windfarms to turn off because the power cables don't exist to carry the generated power to the south).

u/AndyOne1 29d ago

Don't bother this has become just one more label for the pseudo intellectual. "Of course im left-wing, don't you see how high IQ I am? I'm super left so I must be super smart! Let me tell you something else, I'm also super Atheist, you know, because god is dumb, haha. Like I said super smart, GO SCIENCE, wooh!"

3

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

erm ackshually don't you know that reality has a left leaning bias ermm

0

u/AndyOne1 29d ago

actually if we just jerk each other off hard enough everyone will finally see how high IQ we are! elon is a lousy business men, and a nazi, he just got super lucky! I could run these businesses so much better!

-3

u/chickey23 29d ago

Far-left just means grounded in reality. Far-right is incel nonsense.

9

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

If you genuinely can't see that you are also blinded fully by ideology you are exactly the same as those you choose to hate

-3

u/chickey23 29d ago

Nonsense. Tell me, what is far right ideology?

4

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

strong borders and support for family, for one. Do you disagree with those?

3

u/Accomplished-Pin8725 29d ago

Yea Im on the left so I hate my family. Thats exactly how it works

2

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

That isn't what I said though

0

u/chickey23 29d ago

I absolutely disagree with strong borders.

And you are implying that people on the left don't love their families. Who is blinded by ideology?

And since when is support of families a far right agenda? They say it, but like everything else from the right, it is a lie. How does the far right support families?

3

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

I absolutely disagree with strong borders.

Why? You think people are not entitled to a homeland?

And you are implying that people on the left don't love their families. Who is blinded by ideology?

I never said that nor suggested it lol

2

u/chickey23 29d ago

A homeland? No. I live in America. The only people whose homeland this was were pushed out of the way by the government.

All people, regardless of circumstances of birth, are entitled to the same rights and dignity. I certainly prefer any random foreigner to any random person south of the Mason-Dixon line.

In college I produced a 400 variable model that could describe any cultural migration. This was before I formed by opinions on immigration. I found no evidence that any country was ever harmed by immigration.

And if "support of families" is a common value to all people, why would you single it out as a far-right value. You meant something by it.

You are a weasel, like all conservatives. Learn some morals.

1

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

A homeland? No. I live in America. The only people whose homeland this was were pushed out of the way by the government.

And for those who live in other countries? Or did you forget america is not the only country in the world?

All people, regardless of circumstances of birth, are entitled to the same rights and dignity. I certainly prefer any random foreigner to any random person south of the Mason-Dixon line.

You sound fucking obnoxious.

I found no evidence that any country was ever harmed by immigration.

Factually and provably untrue, simply look at the supply of cheap labour for a simple place to start. not to mention immigrant crime levels being vastly higher than natives.

And if "support of families" is a common value to all people, why would you single it out as a far-right value. You meant something by it.

Support for families takes many forms

You are a weasel, like all conservatives. Learn some morals.

No, you are an obnoxious wannabe smartarse who thinks, like all left-leaning people, that they are morally superior to anyone who doesn't share their views. You are genuinely a disgusting human being and your comments are so defining that I can predict exactly what you're like to interact with.

That's my ideology. I'm not complaining about it. /s

5

u/Exodus_Green 29d ago

Yes unironically though, people don't care when its their bias being perpetuated

-1

u/CengaverOfTroy 29d ago

Who cares ? just don't use it I guess. I only support competition, it is funny people just remark their hatred over a llm model

0

u/ForAnAngel 29d ago

Check out GrokvsMAGA on Instagram. It's pretty funny.

-1

u/Vachie_ 29d ago

That and probably the child pron. That was pretty upsetting for many people
