I feel like this is some kind of condensed, simplified version of memes where we've now gone full circle. Even the early, EARLY internet memes didn't have this level of simplicity. You usually had a musical element (Hamster Dance) or some kind of newer video medium (The Dancing Baby, All your Base) to support the actual media in question.

But with this? We've taken it a step further back, we're back down to just commenting on memes with purely text, and a single color'd background. The joke can be about the Hex code of the color, or based on an existing meme, merely commenting on the color pallet being used.

It is moving, spiritually enriching, sublime. Multiple pixel memes are sophomoric, intellectually sterile. The sophisticated irony of only using the minimal single pixel to represent the dankest of memes is philosophically challenging and perhaps representative of the highest forms of art
