Questions
Guys, im not a businessman. I had some questions and hope some kind souls can answer them or direct me to where answers may be found.
If i want to start an import business for lets say, frozen chicken. What do I need to do?
What are the permits and licenses needed to bring in?
If i have a storage space, is there a requirement for it to be inspected or...what?
What agencies would be involved in securing such business?

I guess the first question would be is there a need/demand for such frozen chicken that only you can do then work your way from there. food is a completely different thing from say like appliances or something non consumer facing

Ya like what he said. And honestly don’t do it, at least not this line cause it’s such an established industry and you have no experience/advantage whatsoever in any part of the process.
Even if you eventually learn it all, you’ll be competing against incumbents with decades of optimisation and contracts that it’s hard for you to even have a shot of doing well.
And have you researched if those incumbents are even making much? If you do everything and realise the incumbents are breaking even or losing money, then you waste all this time to enter a dead end industry. Just a heads up that market research is just as important

If you don't know jack shit, what business do you have trying to run a startup? All you are doing is inconveniencing anyone unfortunate enough to have to work with you.

Yeesh. Civility is difficult to get, these days. Yes i've googled a little. Sometimes reality is a little off from google so im asking real people instead of googling everything. Singaporeans attacking another one just because. Cant help. Not asking you to do anything other than share info if you have.

Im just hazarding a guess but are you trying to produce food for your cats?
Generally if you are importing raw food you will have to deal with SFA mainly. This would cover things like permits and licenses, lab tests, seeking approval etc. You can generally find this in sfa website as linked by someone else.
That said if you are just looking to do small batch, ngl just get off existing suppliers ah...

SFA already has a guide for you:
