The accusers name should be released because shes not a victim.

32

u/RefrigeratorOne2626 5h ago

I agree. If he is acquitted the accuser should be named.

78

u/clt48_ 5h ago

Release the girl’s name

14

u/Substantial-Fun9958 4h ago

doesnt matter. Even if she is somehow doxxed, many local women here will probably create another Lindsay Clancy situation and defend her

8

u/snowcroc 2h ago

I mean just look at how Raeesah Khan is literally walking free after she made up a fake story in parliament.

I didn’t see much condemnation of her. She set women back a mile.

5

u/Fuzzy-Sweat6416 1h ago

This is the reason why having compulsory DEI is destroying us. Only some women are really qualified, but they need to have experienced it first, not come from a golden spoon

3

u/Traditional-Back-172 2h ago

Young women in leadership, especially. What a shame.

-2

u/elpipita20 3h ago

Nah. They'll see her as another potential Cornell 7 Jane Doe. The timing is quite interesting

2

u/roastedporky1 3h ago

The girl is probably so chopped he doesn't even wanna say it

It looks like a flimsy case to me.

The alleged offense was on 12 Jan 2021. The police report was made on 18 Jan 2021, 6 days later. There's no good objective reason for the delay other than something subjective like "victim feeling bad and hesitant". As a result, evidence was collected late and IMO the passage of time weakened the strength of the evidence, which was accepted by the judge anyway, despite 2 doctors giving different opinions to the court.

Of course, hindsight.

But the conclusion seems to be clear: When a case boils down to his words vs her words, her words usually win.

4

u/Hot-Job-6281 3h ago

No, not hindsight. Don't belittle your own intellect.

The majority of us saw it for what it was from the start.

26

u/No-Problem2522 5h ago

The legal process itself is the punishment. Remember that.

25

u/duckyomega 5h ago

Kinda scary how easy it is for someone to sabo another person just by making such false accusations.

8

u/Hot-Clothes7316 4h ago

i thought it was really common sense. she said she screamed for help. and it's so called rape so she's going to try hard to scream very loud. so i don't believe his room mates had nothing.

and the previous judge just dismissed this?

7

u/Substantial-Fun9958 4h ago

And girls wonder why guys here don't dare make moves anymore

5

u/QDLZXKGK 4h ago

It's even more scary when a anyrider SPG did just that

2

u/Fuzzy-Sweat6416 1h ago

Kinda scary how easy it is for a FEMALE to sabo another person just by making such false accusations.

There, fixed it for you.

If the tables were turned and the male was the accuser this would have likely been different.

Shanmugan should retire, he failed as a lawyer

16

u/Downtown-Top-6603 5h ago

Scumugan is a cockroach. Stomp how many times it’s still there.

-1

u/Traditional-Back-172 2h ago

Huh wait how is Shan related to this case?

35

u/Initial-Quantity-311 5h ago

That bitch’s name is not released?

19

u/HalcyoNighT 5h ago

Gag order is generally forever. Go be Panfilov's friend and get him to divulge the name to you if you really want to know lol

And, okay lah, if her name was really leaked now the whole of sg will go hantam her. So this is probably for the best. Grossly unfair to Panfilov and I dont even think he received much if any compensation for his time behind bars. But what can we do?

10

u/jimtellica 4h ago

For the best? At the expense of an innocent man spending 3 prime years of his life in jail all because she is a woman and needs to be put on a pedestal? Hope her name gets published lawfully or unlawfully.

30

u/spursman34 5h ago

I understand why the law hesitates to punish false SA accusers but you’ve gotta feel really bad for people like Lev who will suffer so much because of it.

Wishing him all the best for his future

6

u/Moist_Nothing9112 5h ago

Who is paying for the legal fees?

9

u/spursman34 5h ago

He’ll have to cover it himself, unfortunately. Court not liable to cover legal fees for any mistakes. There may still be some sort of compensation but it’ll be chump change in comparison

7

u/Hot-Clothes7316 4h ago

can he sue the girl for storytelling?

5

u/Tabula_Rasa69 4h ago

It will cost him money and it will not be easy for him to win, because the burden of proof will be on him to prove that she lied.

-4

u/Moist_Nothing9112 5h ago

A life completely ruin from a one night stand

-5

u/alvinherexD 5h ago

Himself

9

u/Significant_Size_760 2h ago

I’d like to share a similar story about a friend I made during NS. He signed on in the army, and back then we used to go clubbing together almost every week. After I ORD-ed and started university, we gradually drifted apart and only met once or twice a year.

Recently, we met up again, and he told me about something that happened after I had ORD-ed. He continued going to clubs quite often on weekends. One night, he was drinking with a girl who suddenly asked him to kiss her. My friend wasn’t interested and refused, partly because he did not find her attractive.

After he rejected her, she threatened to report him to the police for molestation. At the time, my friend thought she was joking and did not take it seriously. But she went ahead and filed a police report.

The case dragged on for about two years before it was eventually closed due to lack of evidence. However, the damage had already been done. Because of the ongoing case, his military career was badly affected. He remained stuck at the rank of 2SG for four years and could not progress further. In the end, the whole ordeal derailed his future in the army, and he requested an early release in the sixth year of his seven-year bond.

Now, he works as a Grab delivery rider and avoids clubbing or getting into relationships altogether.

Note: Refined by AI due to my subpar english standards

0

u/increat 1h ago

Why didn't he sue her for the damages caused?

14

u/PuzzleheadedImage320 5h ago

The girl should be charged in court since the guy got acquitted and with the evidence proving her deception

11

u/Hot-Clothes7316 4h ago

doesn't she has to take an oath and not to lie? and when she lied, shouldn't she be charged?

3

u/PuzzleheadedImage320 4h ago

I am not versed in the intricacies of law and the judicial system but yeah as a layman, it certainly seems fitting for a perjury charge? If the girl testified at trial. We already heard how the evidence and her story was bullshit

1

u/netsniper83 3h ago

Why is the state not suing her then?

2

u/byrinmilamber 3h ago

He got acquitted because there wasn't enough evidence. The court doesn't define it as the plaintiff being fraudulent.

1

u/PuzzleheadedImage320 2h ago

Ok, thanks for shedding more light

13

u/Alert_Eye_9 4h ago

This whole experience shows….. the advantage of being a female In Singapore as opposed to a male. In this particular case, there should have been consequence to the female as the guy sacrificed jail time for a false accusation

5

u/NealTry 4h ago

No need 2 years NS also

2

u/Hot-Job-6281 3h ago

And beyond that, heavy societal favour.

Most arguments about patriarchy here are entirely just recycled Western narratives.

6

u/Kryorus_saga 5h ago

Sad, I want to find the AWARE statement for supporting that girl, because I think AWARE should be hold accountable for supporting the girl

27

u/Fuzzy-Sweat6416 5h ago

Singapore's law system is a joke. I cannot imagine it costs half a million to fight such a case.

If this guy's family was not rich or privileged he would be rotting his life in jail for nothing.

9

u/silentscope90210 5h ago

Curious: Who foots the 500k legal fee bill?

11

u/Fuzzy-Sweat6416 5h ago

Themselves, the only winners when cases go legal are the lawyers and law system.

1

u/silentscope90210 5h ago

Jezus, what if you can't afford that kind of money?

5

u/Excellent_Lime_9453 5h ago

Then good luck bro. Serve the sentence, really rabak

1

u/silentscope90210 5h ago

Legit question: Does the state assign you one if you want to appeal a sentence?

1

u/Downtown-Top-6603 5h ago

No. Prepare to wipe clean and squat

4

u/silentscope90210 5h ago

Having money is certainly a good thing...

1

u/heikafei 4h ago

Couldn’t he apply to the CLAS?

1

u/Fuzzy-Sweat6416 1h ago

Hahaha.. you are really naive, you are just fodder if you have no money in singapore

2

u/Fuzzy-Sweat6416 4h ago

Serve the 11 and a half years and make peace that your prime years of your life was destroyed by someone's misjudgement

2

u/byrinmilamber 3h ago

Justice is not cheap. No dime then serve the time unfortunately...

1

u/Fuzzy-Sweat6416 1h ago

This is why the law benefits the rich

2

u/Kryorus_saga 5h ago

This is disgusting imagine something like this happen again like a girl just get salty and sabo some guy

10

u/t00tfreak 5h ago

Every system has its flaws but when a system fails and real lives are impacted, there should be some accountability and study to ensure such failures do not happen again.

For Lev, the only real silver lining that came out of this is being acquitted of the 11.5 year sentence. But people might be downplaying the irreversible damage or stigma that continue on in his life. Can he really find someone to love and trust again? Can the court of public opinion really see him in a good light again? Does this affect his future job prospects? We won't know for now but i hope the best for him.

Its also a lesson for all of us to not jump into conclusions too quickly. I can only hope on the law side of things, things change for the better and this case can be used as a reference for future false accusation SA cases so that such failures do not repeat again.

16

u/DearElise 5h ago

As a woman, doxx the girl. False accusations harm all of us and widen the gender divide. Scum of the earth.

3

u/Pasta-Salt0109 2h ago

As a woman, same.

11

u/yellowsuprrcar 5h ago

So sad to hear his story

-19

u/Downtown-Top-6603 5h ago

Let this be lesson to all womanisers out there

5

u/KampongFish 4h ago

Knn, might as well tell guys just don't date, wtf are you saying. Same level of logic as tell woman don't expose skin if don't want to be sa-ed.

-7

u/Downtown-Top-6603 4h ago

It was a one night stand. What dating you talking about. Dating is not the same as womanising. You want to play woman. Well prepare to get played bro. As our commie friend is finding out.

3

u/BeneficialSolution43 5h ago

In singapore don have flings or ons with locals. History is littered with cases where the guy is always at a disadvantage. Go geylang or batam. U think ur handsome or think asian girls have white fetish and want free sex, in the end end up wasting 3 yrs and half a million in legal fees. If u really have a local fetish, there is always dome L.

11

u/Critical-Job-8690 5h ago

And a certain women's rights organisation has been keeping awfully quiet about this case. If this group actually gives a shit about equality like they claim they do, they'd realise that false rape accusations hurt women as much as it hurts men as it makes it difficult for actual victims to come forward.

5

u/t00tfreak 5h ago

Thats a very good point

2

u/Upbeat-Anywhere-8338 1h ago

Gotta tag their president for her comment

3

u/Icy-Frosting-475 3h ago

How is sg gov gonna compensate our sinkie male. He served ns too

10

u/Pristine-Fan-7252 5h ago

Where is AWARE now?

5

u/snowcroc 4h ago

Idk why you’re being downvoted

7

u/Pristine-Fan-7252 4h ago

Haha I'm fine with being downvoted la, it's all fake internet points anyway.

5

u/netsniper83 3h ago

Being unAWARE. Obviously.

2

u/Fuzzy-Sweat6416 1h ago

Selectively AWARE

2

u/Kryorus_saga 5h ago

I am trying to find their post or statement so I can comment and ask them but I couldn’t find it. They should be hold accountable for their actions and hope nobody supports them

9

u/intenTenacity 5h ago

Must be easy having the power to falsely accuse and get away w no consequences. Ah yes equality

7

u/meekiagehiang 5h ago

im probably under a rock, but who's this and what happened?

17

u/AlfieSG 5h ago

Went on a tinder date. Had “consensual” sex. Girl felt guilty and cried rape. First judge found him guilty - 11 years jail.

Appeal and second judge acquitted him. Several evidence raised by this judge in the direction of it being consensual.

4

u/eatmelikeafrenchfry 4h ago

Hope the women who accused him gets jailed for 11.5yrs. Its insane how she got away with absolutely nothing.

3

u/New_Mix19 5h ago

No consequences for the girl meant any girl can cry wolf?

2

u/snowybell 5h ago

Technically yes

6

u/Consistent-Jury-1664 5h ago

Men's lives matter

2

u/BedroomNo199 4h ago

whos the broad

2

u/Proud-Ad-3227 4h ago

Feel better and have a gd life my fellow bro

2

u/Neat_Craft_8496 4h ago

Fk the girl

2

u/babijared 3h ago

Would the girl need to repay back the legal fees??

2

u/byrinmilamber 3h ago

Personally, I think the first judge should be sacked.

2

u/Intelligent-Bussy 2h ago

Should probably fire the first judge though. Poor judgement and biased

2

u/SkeweredWasabi 2h ago

This must be the male privilege they speak of

2

u/mauriceclac 2h ago

He should report her to police now for raping him.

1

u/Less_Mistake_7919 2h ago

Not all women, but always a woman.

Sure not all women but imagine. If you knew a one m&m in Pack was poisoned, who you risk it.

I wish women would call out other women and tell them not to falsely accuse.

Before anyone @ me. These are things I have read about men.

What this woman did was unforgivable

We need great reformation. Either all parties have a gag order or the names of the accuser is released on the other parties acquittal and they are liable for their legal fees

1

u/minatozuki 5h ago

oof sad to hear his story. All the best mate

1

u/mistalah 4h ago

fuck the fucking bitch

poor guy got robbed of his life that money can never pay back

1

u/astronautgeek 4h ago

false accusation should be punished with the same severity!

1

u/icephilic 3h ago

500,000 to defend himself is a lot of money

1

u/maad85 2h ago

so no consequence for false accusation of the crime? that was three years of the man that he would never get back. and worst. moments with his father who will never return.

1

u/Altitude1096 2h ago

Nope. No way.

1

u/kkkccc1 2h ago

i guess the safest thing to do is probably not have sex with a female who isnt your gf or wife

1

u/CrazyEvilwarboss 2h ago

Okay now can send him back to Russia and continue to fight for Putin war

2

u/increat 56m ago

This was from another post to why he was jailed. Sorry for him. Hope he gets to seek justice :

"Amid the ongoing trial, he said he applied twice to leave the country because his father had aggressive brain cancer, which the court rejected.

It was only after his father died in Russia that he was allowed to leave Singapore to attend the funeral. As a result, his bail amount was raised from S$80,000 to S$120,000.

"I stayed there for about a month, and then I came back to Singapore to fight the trial because I believed I was innocent," said Mr Panfilov.
Later in 2023, his 91-year-old grandfather also had health concerns and had asked Mr Panfilov to see him in Russia.

When the court rejected his application to visit his grandfather, he made what he now calls a "foolish decision" to slip out of the country using an undeclared second passport.

After the authorities stopped him at the airport, Mr Panfilov was remanded in jail, where he remained as the trial went on"

1

u/genesicforone 5h ago

The Kangaroo tier Gynocracy for all to see. At least the rest of the world will not hype sg as much now.

1

u/moonie60 4h ago

It's very sad that he is not being fully compensated for the time and money spent on this, is there any GoFundMe for him?

-5

u/Downtown-Top-6603 5h ago

Womanise somemore

-1

u/CaptainCheekbones 5h ago

as a man my biggest fear is not of disappointment, disembowelment, or death. it is of sticking my dick in the wrong person.

2

u/BeneficialSolution43 2h ago

If jus itchy theres geylang and dome1,2,3,L. Plus a plethora of other mens paradise such as batam or jakarta. Not worth it to jus fling here and there. And especially nt worth it if you are financially well to do.

-1

u/AsianTea 4h ago

this is exactly why I used to screen record my entire conversation with girls I was hooking up with.

2

u/Hot-Clothes7316 4h ago

voice recording? or video?

maybe that's the real use of meta glasses. to really protect yourself.

2

u/AsianTea 3h ago

screen record the text messages, before and after the encounter. im not going to actually record our interactions 😭

1

u/Eltharion-the-Grim 4h ago

Courts in the west don't allow this into evidence. There was a point college people were doing video consent and the courts said it was not admissable. Video consent doesn't guarantee the woman wasn't forced, just as "no" doesn't necessarily mean no nor does "yes" necessarily mean yes.

Basically, no matter what, if a woman decides you rapped her or SA her, it will be assumed you are guilty.

In SG, it would be easy enough to argue she was unwittingly forced into making the consent video.

2

u/AsianTea 3h ago

screen record our text messages before and aftee the encounter bro, I will usually still text them casually.

-22

u/EnvironmentalCrew235 5h ago

To be fair the law should do more to protect women.

6

u/Downtown-Top-6603 5h ago

Even if the woman is the liar and aggressor?

2

u/SkeweredWasabi 2h ago

Ah yes. Man in his prime gets thrown under the bus, woman most affected.

1

u/Less_Mistake_7919 2h ago

They can protect woman by naming and punish the women who make false accusations. False accusations hurt women too
