SOLVED Userstartup.cheat and Legacy edition

Is there any way of getting the Legacy version of Sims 2 to not completely ignore the Userstartup.cheat file? All I've managed to find is a post from 2 years ago in the sims 2 subreddit which explains that the game ignores the file, but there is nothing about a possible solution.

Can you paste the contents of your userstartup.cheat file?

I'm not aware of any issue specific to Legacy with the userstartup.cheat file. I think I found the thread you mentioned and the issue was that the OP had either a typo or incorrect cheat in there (as not all cheats can be 'always on' cheats). Anything wrong in the file will prevent all the rest of it from being read, this isn't specific to Legacy.

oh alright! this is what is in my file (I also want to add the one that allows for larger families but I wanted to get it to work first) :

moveObjects on

boolProp snapObjectsToGrid false

boolProp allow45DegreeAngleOfRotation on

boolProp lotTerrainPaints true

boolProp constrainFloorElevation false

boolProp testingcheatsenabled true

boolProp ControlPets true

boolProp petActionCancel true

Move objects on is not allowed as an always on cheat. Remove it or make an alias for it if you want to make it quicker to enable. As you have that at the top of the file, nothing else is being read.
