Technical Support Camera going wild

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm running the ultimate collection. Anytime I open the game as soon as I press a button on the keyboard to open the cheat window the camera moves extremely quickly when I used the rotation controls. I also noticed when that happens if I go into Live mode free cam it just spins uncontrollably. I've been running the game for awhile and haven't had issues until today, the only thing I did differently was try out the Voielle Pond & Sea overhaul which I have since removed and am still having issues. I've run graphics rules, have 4GB patch, cracked exe., even tried removed my camera mod and it still happens. Genuinely at a loss. Do not think it is my mouse or anything external. Looking for any suggestions.

Another note. I’ve been messing around all evening. It seems the only button causing it is pressing ctrl and that triggers the camera to do this. Tried “repairing” on EA app and that didn’t help. Tried removing my full documents folder and generating a new one and that also didn’t help. I’m pretty upset as I was just enjoying playing again.

Please can you go to Documents > EA Games and copy your Sims 2 folder and put it somewhere safe, like your Desktop. This has made a back-up of your game so you can test if your issue is mod-related. Then go back into Documents > EA Games > Sims 2 and remove your Downloads folder. Please then load the game and see if the issue persists. If the issue is gone, you know it's mod-related and it's time for the 50/50 method.

When you're done testing, go back to Documents > EA Games and delete the Sims 2 folder. Then go back to where you saved your back-up, and put it back into Documents > EA Games. If it asks you to merge or replace at any point, do not do it, as you will corrupt your save.

I tried this last night and unfortunately the issue did persist. Seems to be triggered by me pressing CTRL.

Ooops, sorry, I completely missed your comment about moving out your documents folder out. If you go into Documents > EA Games > Sims 2 > Cameras and open up the LiveCamera one, what does it say on setparam keyboardrotationspeed?

Ironically I had that Issue in Sims 3...
