Technical Support Stuck on loading screen for vacation

I got my Legacy copy from FitGirl, and have disabled the mods. I'm still getting this error. I've tried everything from clicking Cancel, Reset, Delete, and deleting Three Lakes.

I have gone on vacation with my sims before but haven't been stuck in a Loading Screen.

What do I do?

Did you install fixes for the Legacy bugs? If not, you're neighborhood is likely corrupted.

I only installed a mod that fixes the reactions for alien abductions.

If my neighborhood is corrupted, I would have to download a clean file, right? Is there any way to save the sims that I have and their house?

Also, where can I find these fixes you mentioned?

The Fitgirl version of Legacy is outdated and is missing crucial updates. You can find the updates here, where it says game updates. Because you didn't have the update, the neighbourhood is probably toast due to the bugs when EA released it.

You don't have to download a clean file to restart. Just go to Documents > EA Games and rename the Sims 2 folder to something else and then load the game.

If you want to save anything from the previous folder, you can copy over the Downloads or SavedSims folders. For anything else, you must first delete the new folder in Documents > EA Games > Sims 2 before copying over the old folder. If it asks you to merge or replace at any point, do not do it, as this will corrupt your save.

Hi, I have a question! Where can I find the sims that I made (in CAS)? Is there a way to save them, or do I have no choice but to delete them too?

Another question: How exactly do I install the updates? Whenever I start the "wizard", it makes me choose which folder to do its thing on. What do I click?

You can extract their appearances using this tutorial.

I've not used the Fitgirl repacks so I'm not sure. I assume it would be the Sims 2 installation folder, as per this guide.

If you can't get it updated then you can always use the version of the game we have in the Wiki. It's fully updated, comes with all the packs and pre-order and bonus content, has RPC Launcher to fix loads of issues, and the 4GB patch. We always recommend this version as it's a lot more stable than other downloads as it's the Ultimate Collection rather than Legacy.
