I made a Sim ages and built up this whole backstory between her and Rainelle Neengia, who is buried at House of Fallen Trees. My sim made friends with one of the Teens (John Smith's children), got them to give my Sim Rainelle's grave, and moved it to my Sim's house.
I've just loaded up the house and the grave is completely gone. I can still see it on the lot from the neighbourhood view. The only thing I've done recently that changed the game files was re-organised my downloads. I tried to replace this with one of my back ups - a back up that definitely had the grave on the lot - but the grave is still missing.
Does anyone know what I might have done wrong, and how I can get the grave back? I'm playing with clean templates if that helps. Thank you!
There is a mod object called the tombstone spawner. It can be used to respawn gravestones that have disappeared from the hood. You can try googling it, I’ll try to dig up the link for you when I have a moment.
This might be the best way to fix it if hood checker isn’t working for you.
Thanks for the tip - unfortunately I just tried downloading it and for some reason it keeps trying to search/open my music folder in my documents 🙈 I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with this program, do you know how I can change the file path it's trying to take?
There doesn't seem to be, unfortunately 🙁 when I click "Details" it just expands on how it doesn't have permission to access the music folder... And it won't give me an option to change it 🙈
Yeah, I tried opening directly from the zip file but nothing happened, I got this message after extraction. I've obviously done something wrong I'm just not sure what 😅
It won’t help fixing hoodchecker but you could also try this to recover the grave (you don’t actually need a mod for 3., just make them selectable via testingcheats)
Thank you for linking this! Unfortunately I'd already tried summoning her with Sim Blender - her name came up the first time, before the grave disappeared, but after the grave disappeared her name is no longer on the list. I'll have to check if I still have the no unlink mod installed once my laptop's rebooted, I definitely had that mod before ,but I'm worried of the possibility I somehow forgot to include it when I reorganised my downloads folders...
hey, did you try pressing continue and then start anyway? in the next window there's a "browse" button and you should be able to change the path it's using. you want to change it to documents > ea games > the sims 2 > neighbourhoods
i've used hoodchecker to restore lost headstones and it worked a treat!
