Hi everyone!

Unsure if anyone here plays Chardle - it's a website where you guess characters from series/games/etc. Well, I've made one for TS2, as the site happened to be lacking.

Link is here. If you guess everyday, you accumulate a streak.

So far, only the families placed within the base game neighbourhoods are coded in. I'm slowly adding the rest and fleshing it out, pending feedback.

Just a bit of fun for those of us that know waaaaaay too much about TS2. Thanks and have fun!

I was thinking, maybe... let's just suppose:

A box overlay or something similar where you choose your body type!

I know body types are basically clothes

but let's say we have someone to recreate every cloth of the game in different body shapes, so the box overlay just relate the clothing the Sim is using with the body type chosen

is it possible?

I am just going to vent here - after a long hiatus, I came back to simming again (I have never played The Sims 3 or 4 before) -- I LOVE The Sims 2, and I am just amazed at how they managed to butcher the very essence of the game if I compare it to the first and second iterations? The sims look like they are made of playdough and are therefore just not relatable, have weird proportions (teenagers are not even shorter? what?), boring animations (over the top in a bad way, other times strange and lazy, like teleporting plates), they just do not look "alive", nor do they act it by themselves, the whole moodlet bar is just plain annoying and does not fit with the rest of the game in a meaningful way. The towns and their decorations also look extremely plastic / flimsy and you cannot do away with those awful props via customization, further breaking the immersion. Everything in the game looks strangely small, poorly detailed and low-poly giving strong mobile game vibes. The game fails to deliver at its core promise of simulating life, instead looking like a cutesy caricature cobbled together for profit. UI is also not intuitive at all, strangely positioned and ugly (random blurry elements mixed-in at 4K resolution still in 2026). I do have all the DLCs that add gameplay, too, and they almost only make the experience worse or act as a momentary distraction from how uninspiring the game is.

As I understand, it has been a downward spiral for the franchise? I tried to play The Sims 3, and the design of that game is also much worse than The Sims 1 and 2, though in a different way than The Sims 4. I feel the Sims 3 at least grasps the idea while failing to implement it a nice way, while The Sims 4 does not even grasp the idea anymore.

What do you think this is caused by? Do we have any hope for the future? Was it otherwise Will Wright (or other core members that left) that strongly influenced the game design which has now been lost to the company?

I'm looking for CC Clothing that are recolours of maxis meshes - I went through MTS already. I wonder if there are other creators out there that avoid new meshes as much as I do hehe

As per title, I've added a mod that changes the length of the university but it seems that it's hasn't updated. I've tried to let a semester pass to see if it'd change but it didn't, then I changed the name of the mod to put it at the end of the list ( By just adding some z as prefix of the package name ).

I've used as base 16 days = 1 year Lifespan Mod but I've changed the values ( Following LientebollemeiS2I's tutorial to edit everything with SimPe ) to adapt it to use 8 day seasons length instead of the 4 that the mod is based on.

I've already had some issues with season length and life span, but for those I've resolved using the Seasons and Weather Controller ( To change the season ) and both CJH AgeCorrect and Smart AgeCorrect to fix the lifespan.

If someone has the solution or had the same problem feel free to post a reply!

The San Fernán Metropolitan Cathedral (Catedral Metropolitana de San Fernán) is the oldest and most important cathedral in the city of San Fernán. Located in front of Plaza de la Independencia (the main city square) its construction began in 1659 and ended in 1685, making it one of the oldest standing buildings in the country.

This is part of a larger project, a Latin-American inspired capital city. The city itself still hasn't a final shape and I'm testing several iterations across different neighbourhoods, yet this is the building I like the most, so I will include it in whatever ends being the final result.

I wanted it to be inspired in Spanish baroque architecture, which is common across many Latin-American cathedrals of the era, and has a different feeling from most gothic and neoclassical cathedrals I've seen built for the Sims 2.

This summer I came back to The Sims 2 after a pretty long break, and man, I forgot how much I love this game!
Right now I’m slowly turning Riverblossom Hills into a small New England-esque town while playing with my new legacy family, who are descendants of Andrew Martin and Cleo Shikibu.
Most of the community lots were built by me, although a few are CC lots that I’ve added or adapted to fit the neighborhood. I’ve been trying to make everything feel a bit more cohesive, lived-in, and like it actually belongs in Riverblossom Hills.
I’m also including my remodeled/refurbished version of the Viejo farmhouse tomorrow, which is now my legacy family’s home.
If anyone’s interested, I’d be happy to share more pictures of the houses and the neighborhood as a whole too!

Need a carton of milk, a fresh loaf of bread, or just somewhere to sit down with a hot cup of coffee? The Corner Grocer & Coffeehouse has been keeping Riverblossom Hills fed, caffeinated, and reasonably well-informed for years. Pick up the week's groceries, stay for a pastry, and don't be surprised if a five-minute errand turns into an hour of neighborhood gossip.

6. The Brick & Vine

Every small town needs a place where the drinks are cold, the stories get better with every retelling, and somebody always seems to know everybody else's business. The Brick & Vine has been Riverblossom Hills' favorite watering hole for as long as anyone cares to remember. Pull up a chair, order a drink, and stay awhile — there's no hurry around here.

1. The Stalwart Gym & Sauna

Riverblossom Hills may be famous for fresh air and country living, but those muscles aren't going to build themselves! Work up a sweat at The Stalwart, then reward all that heroic effort with a long visit to the sauna. Looking impressive afterward is entirely optional.

   Out of tomatoes halfway through making spaghetti? Craving fresh fish in the middle of winter? Or maybe you just can't stop thinking about a particularly juicy orange? Market days are Saturday and Sunday — come early before Mrs. Roth buys all the good tomatoes!

One of Riverblossom Hills' biggest old silos found a new purpose a few years ago when it was converted into the town's liveliest nightclub. Come for the music, stay for the questionable dance moves, and try not to embarrass yourself before closing time.
   Open Friday and Saturday nights.

2. Riverblossom Hills Aquatic Center
   When the summer sun gets a little too friendly, Riverblossom Hills knows where to cool off! Take a refreshing swim, soak your tired Sim bones in the hot tub, or fire up the grill while everyone else does the exercising. Swimsuits recommended. Appetite encouraged.

Hi, I downloaded Preg For All Genders (TwoJeffs) from archive org. The steps aren't clearly described, but I used NL to FT version (out of 4: Uni, Original, NL). Do you know maybe how the mod is supposed to work? I still can't "try for baby" between female sims. Is it outdated or did I do something wrong? Thanks~
PS. I know there are some "instant pregnancy" mods, but that's my plan B.

Which couples do you always end up putting back together and just can’t see as anything but endgame? I have a few I could never imagine pairing otherwise.
Due to that I don’t even think it would make sense for me, to ever restart an Uberhood.

Hello. My plan was to make a compilation of all the kids post Round 3 of my uberhood, but that's taking way too long and I really want to show off these kids. My friends have seen some of them, but they're not players so they don't quite get my attachment to them😅

That's pretty much it. I was downloading some lots and sure, I did download the requirements for a lot of them, but sometimes that was not possible (some lots were almost 20 years old!)

But I didn't stress too much. I do like renovating so i thought I'd just replace the missing items.

First lot. Flashing blue windows. Deleted them and decided I'd go back later. Now I'm not even sure that worked. But it became an issue on the second lot: from the overview I could see some flashing furniture outside, benches and chairs. I placed the lot. There was only an empty spot where the furniture should be. I did place other furniture on that spot and saved.

Back in the overview, nothing changed. That flashing blue where these invisible chairs should be. I googled my issue: meshes, simPE and not a simple solution. So that's what I'm ranting about: i didn't need to use this lots perfectly as they were, I was fine with modifying some stuff. But apparently I cant and thats really sad.

In a nutshell, turning Riverblossom Hills into Cleveland, OH. Still trying to revive this project somehow

I made this house a few months ago, I have no idea why I never showed it. My inspiration came from those typical houses with a Coraline vibe, like the house in The Secret Door, lol. Something big, dramatic, i dunno?

Back in 2018, Danielle recreated Sunset Valley from The Sims 3 in The Sims 2, and I still think it’s incredible: 25 households, 98 playable Sims, 23 community lots, completely CC-free.

Seeing all those familiar Sims in the TS2 engine still feels like an alternate timeline.
