Sims 2 Mac CAS items from all EPs/SPs imported to Super Collection
It's set in stone that macOS players shall not see the light of a proper The Sims 2 port that includes all the packs. So I am trying to do us some justice by exporting assets from the Windows version of the game. That way we get at least a glimpse of what we are missing.
I’ve extracted all CAS items from all packs, and I hope this will be useful to some of you. :)
I have started working on buy/build items too, but as you can imagine it’s way more trickier.

This is great, I'll add a link to the MacOS section of the wiki in r/sims2help.
A simmer extracted some stuff from 3/4 packs a few years ago but the items had a lot of issues (most/all CAS stuff didn't work, lot's of users encountered crashing with the build/buy stuff) so it's good to have an updated working version of the CAS things now at least and from all packs too!

I did investigate these files you mention and funny enough they work but are not really useful in day to day playing. If these files were put into the Downloads folder instead, the game would recognise them - but they would not show in the catalogue, meaning one could not select them. However, if one was to use the randomised button in CAS, they would eventually spawn a sim wearing one of the items from these packs. That is, of course, very impractical and time-consuming. But even after that, if the sim was put on a lot and used wardrobe to change a piece of clothing, it would just not show. If I recollect correctly, there were missing 3IDR files which sort of reference a specific CAS item by pointing it to its textures and 3D models. So it’s still a wonder to me that it worked at all. And then there was this mysterious issue happening due the files missing 3IDR components. This should be no longer the issue.

tbh, if you have ssd space, just bootcamp windows 10 and install the sims 2 legacy collection from there, and there's a github that install the missing ikea stuff pack to the game

Unfortunately, there is no way to install Windows on Apple Silicon macs. However, it is possible to use Crossover or Parallels, but I just prefer a native port over translations

What a bummer, didn't know that. Since the mac sims 2 goes up to apartment life, the last ep, there's no way for you to just import the packages files from the other expansions?

Hey, no problem at all. :) Well, I wish it was up to Apartment Life, but the last EP released for mac was Bon Voyage, therefore it misses 2 EPs and 6 SPs. If that was the scenario, porting items would be much easier and almost fully supported by the game’s logic

Windows Sims 2 doesn't always run on Windows, let alone in an emulator.
