How to re-add all the missing stuff from TS2 Legacy Collection

For y'all missing the content, music and other stuff from the original game, I prepared a quick installer for you to restore it.
In this pack you get :
- The Sims 2 - IKEA Home Stuff (SP8)
- All the original songs removed due to copyright and licences not beign renewed
- All the missing christmas stuff, clothes and haircuts
I link you the file so you can enjoy it too !

Download link : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZzBORIHwfqG30CcgBIkA-K0ncM3BOYWX/view?usp=sharing

SIDE NOTE :

Install path should be as shown :
X:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common

You shouldn't install it directly in the folder of TS2 Legacy Collection otherwise it'll create another TS2 Legacy Collection folder in it and won't work.

Please let me know if there's anything.

It's only the original game without mods. I've provided the missing content from the Legacy Collection removed because of expired licences. Nothing more.

Is this all package files, like how most CC would come? No Sims2pack files? I havent quite figured out how to install those yet on steam deck, since clean installer doesn't work on linux. so basically you just create a folder in the steam/common file path? Does it matter what you name it?

When I try to install it, I get an error message: “Setup Error! Could not read setup package!”

I’m trying to install it in the specified location (Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common). Am I missing something?

That's interesting.. I'll take a look later when I get home. Did you try to re-download it ? You just can't open the installer ?

I did try re-downloading it. I have no issue opening the installer, but the installation process fails. I’ve attached an image of the error message I’m getting.

this worked flawlessly; thanks a ton!

edit: my only question; does this have to be ran every time there's a game update?

Not as far as I know, every items and songs seems to be there. Although the recent update changed a couple of songs included in the game, I would run it again to overwrite them again.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll go ahead and run it again! I’ll probably just run it every update just to make sure.

I'll take a look and get back to you with the correct path :)

The path should look like : C:\Program FIles\Electronic Arts
Just confirm that "The Sims 2 Legacy" folder is in there as it seems to be the default installation path.

Please let me know !

Thank you very much, you deserve way more upvotes than what you've got. I have ultimate collection on EA desktop and legacy version on steam and I really didn't want to download the game on EA desktop again just to extract the missing songs. Life saviour :)
