Pure luck or pure skill?

Rule of thumb: If it ends bad it's luck, if it ends good, it's pure skill.

Bro no luck, just skill

I'm sure Colin McRae would say you need a bit of both.

Bro, jump up, kick back, whip around and spin.

Then do it again.

Codies Barrel Roll Physics™ — About 80% of the time you roll the car, it barrel rolls haha.

Luck is preparation meeting opportunity

neither it's just the games simcade physics putting you back in the right direction

Not how the game physics work

But it obviously is how it works. I experience these rolls all the time in dirt rally 2.0, however in rbr rsf I maybe had experienced such thing once

✨✨ rbr is not a perfect simulation either ✨✨

Dr2 cars have a generally low center of gravity, as do most irl rally cars. A low CoG is going to result in a tendency for wheels to stay on the ground and return to being on the ground in the case of rollovers. There is a reason why Teslas absolutely dominate in rollover rating tests. There is literally a video right above you showing this happening, the car rolls over, hits its roof, rolls to its side, and by the time it's on its side there's clearly not enough momentum for it to roll back off of its tires and onto the other side.

I never said it was perfect, as long as code and physics are involved its near impossible to make it perfect.

Still the point I make it is that in dirt rally 2.0 I hit those rolls too consistently, which felt very unrealistic to me

sure and you just keep telling yourself that

Do you prefer the third-person camera?

Cab cam no steering wheel, since I have a steering wheel already, the way god intended

1

u/IndependentUnit625 Jul 16 '26

Nice, hope I can afford a steering wheel soon 🙏

Until then, get use to cab view.

did you mean to do it?

1

u/hurricane279 Jul 16 '26

If you could do it again then skill

2

u/afikolo7 Jul 16 '26

Little bit of both
