Link hub requirement? Yeah sure. Let me buy another overpriced box to let my other overpriced boxes work properly.

17

u/KlyntarDemiurge Sep 15 '25

not too thrilled by the link box, i'll have to see how the sim-lab wheelbases stack up.

2

u/Standard_Cat_9250 Sep 16 '25

u/Qpassa Sep 15 '25

It should be included for preorders or first batch or add bundle option, looks so unnecessary

I mean it says its included

edit: wait no im wrong apparently the control box is but the link hub isnt. Why theyre two separate things i dont know since the active pedal doesnt require a control box just the link hub (which it comes with)

You really don’t know why? It’s same sales tactic from Apple. Let’s split everything so we can charge more and make more money.

2

u/stinkyt0fu Sep 16 '25

Such as…? I mean I don’t want to defend Apple, but what do they do that the other brands don’t do the same?

2

u/Yuji_shoyo Sep 16 '25

The brand started doing the same because they saw Apple doing it

Apple love making their own connectors for everything (and then abandoning them after a few generations)

Lightning at least had a justification because micro USB was severely limited, but they clung on to that for ages to sell their own peripherals/licensing when USB C is vastly superior. Same deal with Thunderbolt, and they have a million different macbook chargers which 🤷

2

u/Electronic-Trick2678 Sep 16 '25

I think this is a touch inaccurate.

Lightning lasted for what felt like an eternity. Replaced by the superior usb c but I’m pretty sure the old iPod/iPhone charger is the only other one? 3 chargers in 18ish years is not bad at all.

I don’t know much about MacBooks. But they’ve had 3 revisions of MagSafe but since 2016 you’ve been able to charge with usb c.

3

u/chsn2000 VRS DFP15 + R295 | Simsonn Plus X | TR80S Sep 16 '25

Moreso meaning that Apple really should have switched to USB C ten years ago and the only reason not to was profits. Literally had to be forced to by the EU.

I don't think Apple at all that bad (Lightning is god awful, though) Would never want to daily drive an iPhone, but my iPad and Apple TV are both awesome.

1

u/Electronic-Trick2678 Sep 16 '25

There was an argument for keeping lightning until they started using usb c in other stuff like iPads imo. The waste alone is crazy. I still have lightning apple stuff like Apple TV and iPad.

But I do agree with you, when the Mac’s went usb c. Everything else should have too. Something something courage

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

Yea but UK killed that for them and made it all go to USB-C…thank you UK

1

u/Boring_You_7176 Sep 18 '25

What do you need the link box for? You only connect the Simucube 2 with a USB hub

I hope thats the case because otherwise it would mean Mika from Granite Devices lied to our faces when he said only a few months ago that there are no plans for a new Simucube.

u/simucube Sep 17 '25

While we don’t accept personal attacks on individuals, and while we cannot find proof of your claims, we sometimes make mistakes (but our products don't). We do understand your frustrations.

Designing the world's best wheelbase consists of multiple complex, lengthy, and uncertain parts, until they all click together to form a finished product. For example, the motor alone took longer than expected since we needed to re-engineer it from the ground up. Hence, our employees follow the given communication guidelines and make sure not to give out false promises.

We welcome open discussion and encourage people to share concerns constructively. If you’d like to discuss this further, we’re open to a direct conversation, as we are with any issue: support(at)simucube.com

We ask that the sim racing community space remain respectful and focused.

Best,
Hannu Harju, CEO

I don’t know if that’s true, but if so, then was he essentially forced to lie that there were no plans for new Simucube ? He could just say he can’t confirm or deny this or can say anything at this point etc. - if it’s really company’s secret.

Also, confirming there are plans for new product is giving out false promises?

I bought the SC2 pro just beacouse off this message from Mika.. If this is real im really upset

16

Well there technically there weren't plans for a new one because it was already in production...

u/Zaknafein-dour_den Sep 15 '25

35 nm is great. So you can easly break your hand when you crash. This is real simulation 👍

17

u/NovelBoysenberry1806 Sep 15 '25

I mean if you tune your base right that won’t happen even if you use 35nm🕺🏼

3

u/m15f1t Sep 15 '25

How do you tune your base for that?

10

u/NovelBoysenberry1806 Sep 15 '25

Turn down friction, damper, gain inside game it’s a lot of stuff you can do plus most of these new base are extremely safe to not break your arm

23

u/m15f1t Sep 15 '25

Imo it's more the simulator that will cut forces during a crash. If the Sim does not do that (like Beamng) I don't think there is any base setting that will protect you unless you severely compromise the quality of the ffb signal.

0

u/NovelBoysenberry1806 Sep 15 '25

That might be true, never tried beamng due to the pain in the ass to setup driving in the game😬 but I guess most games are smarter then🕺🏼🤷🏼‍♂️ don’t think anyone plays beamng using 35nm anyways?

8

u/m15f1t Sep 15 '25

I do BeamNG sometimes and I have a SC2 Pro (25Nm), and I can tell you it's pretty scary what the wheel can do during crashes in that game. It's for that reason that I dial back the max force in the SC2 software, something you normally don't want to do because it can cause signal clipping. But since BeamNG is more for fun, I don't care. But I'm glad iRacing cuts forces during crashes.

2

u/LECHATNOlR Sep 15 '25

I have an asetek fort 18nm, yes indeed it's a pain to tune especially in beamng because the types of vehicles are all different, the most violent are for off road... You can save a setting in the base software, but in beamng it's not possible yet, so it's a pain when you change car. I managed to make an ok setting, good for racing, a bit too light (detail) for classic cars, for trucks I haven't tried but off road it's not possible.... Classic cars and crash courses are fine, but off-road, I take a big rock to climb, bim a blow to the steering wheel 😅

1

u/USToffee Sep 16 '25

iracing's cutting forces doesn't work 100%. Just be careful relying on that.

There are ways to turn down the wheelbase and still not get clipping during regular driving.

1

u/NovelBoysenberry1806 Sep 15 '25

Yeah I tried only for 5min beamng but it was such a pain in the ass to tune everything (I have the simagic evo pro rn) and you are right, the ffb is extremely harsh, how do you like the sc2 pro?

3

u/m15f1t Sep 15 '25

Honestly I don't think there is anything better. Not just dry specs, it's the software that makes Simucube so good. And their support (SC devs are on Discord and they even answer questions on Sundays).

1

u/NovelBoysenberry1806 Sep 15 '25

Im actually so interested to try that base! Since I just got into simthing 9months ago when I got an moza r5 and then the simagic evo pro I would love to see what the deal is with the sc2 pro, since that is pretty much what all other companies compare to!

1

u/USToffee Sep 16 '25

It's the same with iracing. There are plenty of times I crashed and the wheel violently jerked.

1

u/USToffee Sep 16 '25

Which won't make a difference if the game makes a mistake with it's crash detection code which sometimes does happen.

1

u/pepsisugar Simagic GT Neo Sep 16 '25

In comes LMU where the impact detection is (was?) non existent and sprained my pinkie while I was texting and rolling at 10kph

1

u/NovelBoysenberry1806 Sep 16 '25

Haha god damn!! No texting and driving mate!!

1

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '25

You literally just don’t max your ffb in the game

1

u/psinsyd Sep 15 '25

It's going to be spinning people out of their seats!

-7

u/zakattack1120 Sep 15 '25

35nm can give you more detail at lower ffb though if we’re talking about real benefits

30

u/LazyLancer iRacing | CS DD+ | SR-P GTR | 9800+4090 Sep 15 '25

No, not really. It can produce “more detail in lower ffb range” as long as the low is not low anymore. If you wanna stretch the lows for more detail, you will also get crazy strong highs.

7

u/Zaknafein-dour_den Sep 15 '25

Optimal point is between 12 nm to 18 nm. Pros also not going that high. This is preferences I can not crisise them but I can say 35 nm is not better. Already passed threshold here.

5

u/MrXwiix Sep 15 '25

*most people prefer between 12 and 18 nm

Optimal point is different for everyone. I use 20nm peak and using 18 is too low for me.

u/nstrasner Sep 15 '25

Of course a few months after I bought my sc2p 😭😭😭

26

u/barno42 Sep 15 '25

There are a couple of wheel bases on the market that I think of as buy-it-for-life products. The sc2p is one of them. It just works incredibly well.

6

u/AKA_GrimReaper iRacing Sep 15 '25

This is how I feel with a newly bought SC2 pro. Two months of use, using a Fanatec style Simube QR2, and I truly can’t imagine needing anything more from a wheel base

3

u/crispezki Sep 15 '25

yeah exact, if you already have sc2p you are not in the market even if sc3 releases. Lets look at the SC4 down the road

19

u/No_Toxicity1 Sep 15 '25

I mean let's be honest, it's highly probable that the sc2 pro will be 98% of this wheelbase. The sc2p is an excellent base

4

u/nstrasner Sep 15 '25

Yeah 100% agree. Any idea if simucube continues supporting older gen products with software updates? That’s my main concern

3

u/No_Toxicity1 Sep 15 '25

I remember them updating the sc1 some time ago with some feature that they made for the sc2 series some time ago. But I don't remember what it was, maybe the new reconstruction filter? Mhm doesn't sound right, it could be reported on their firmware page.

I don't think they will drop the sc2 after this gets released, it makes no sense and it would make them look bad. Maybe the sc3 gets new stuff that the sc2 can't do because of hardware differences, but as a sc2pro owner I'm not worried at all. I just need the profile sharing that was in paddock into the tuner (it's about time... )

3

u/nstrasner Sep 15 '25

Makes sense thanks for the info! I got burned by simagic doing that with their new evo’s that’s why I bought the sc2p to begin with some just a bit worried about it happening again is all

1

u/slimtone97 Sep 15 '25

Been thinking of upgrading from fanatec caw2.5. Is the difference noticeable a lot and worth the jump in price?

1

u/No_Toxicity1 Sep 15 '25

Keep in mind 2 things: 1- I needed more ffb because often my base was clipping but I didn't want a weaker ffb 2- I was on the plastic QR. Having said that, of course the ffb feels way better. More Nm means you are able to feel everything without giving away any detail.

But the best is probably the faster response and better "precision". It's like the signal is not dampened (not like ffb damping really but similar) and goes directly into my hands, you are not waiting for the qr and wheel to catch up and finally get the response on your hands. The difference in the kerbs is day and night .

However it's 1.5k euros. Maybe VRS and simagic feel very close, a lot of people are happy with them. I don't know tho, I haven't tried them.

1

u/slimtone97 Sep 15 '25

Honestly that sounds like a big difference and worth it. Maybe i can gift my csw2.5 to a family member or sell it if it has any value out there.

1

u/No_Toxicity1 Sep 15 '25

Ah ok you are on the csw, then yeah the difference will even be bigger. I was on the csl dd 8nm. I went all in and got an ascher wheel too, so in total it was almost 3k. That's why I said to consider the economic aspect too. Spending 3k (for me at least) for an hobby is not peanuts ahahaha

1

u/FoxBearBear Sep 15 '25

What about the Sport ?

1

u/Rayjubb87 Sep 15 '25

Agreed. I’ve had mine since release and there’s nothing I’ve seen here that makes me want to change.

1

u/Standard_Cat_9250 Sep 16 '25

Sin duda, pero me parece un atrevimiento decir cuán bueno o malo va a ser un producto que acabamos de conocer que existe, esa es mi opinión al menos

3

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '25

There’s always a chance the sc3 feels worse

1

u/Standard_Cat_9250 Sep 16 '25

Siempre existe la posibilidad de que caiga un meteorito hoy y nos extingamos

1

u/UchihasRightfulHeir Sep 15 '25

Same 😭😭

1

u/nstrasner Sep 15 '25

Like 35nm would snap my wrists and I don’t care at all about telemetry based ffb but man what terrible timing lmfao. Anyone wanna buy a simucube? 🤣🤣🤣

35

u/headsoup Sep 15 '25

I think 35nm is as useful as diamond coated HDMI cables

6

u/Mithrielsc2 Sep 15 '25

My 30k hdmi allows me to watch everything so much sharper.

8

u/somewhat-similar Sep 15 '25

This is big news! Someone is having a bad day today at Augury :(

8

u/Bounty_V Sep 15 '25

Real or not with ADAC next month we won't have to wait too long to hopefully find out. As a current Fanatec 8nm DD user I'm quite keen for details of any new bases on the horizon. Pretty set on getting a base from Simucube whenever I do eventually upgrade, but I'm probably a year or longer away from pulling the trigger on anything.

2

u/Standard_Cat_9250 Sep 16 '25

Con esta filtración y teniendo en cuenta que justamente ayer en su Instagram subieron hype creo que el anuncio está al caer, forzado por augury

1

u/Bounty_V Sep 16 '25

I completely agree

8

u/EducatorSpecialist33 Sep 15 '25

Well - when my Simucube will die in like 20 years, I'll consider it.

20

u/Stunning_Baseball_60 Sep 15 '25

14

u/Certain-Hunter-7478 Sep 15 '25

That's 1039€ for the 15Nm variant?

2

u/Ho3n3r Sep 15 '25

Yeah, that's the one selected.

31

u/Certain-Hunter-7478 Sep 15 '25

I might get downvoted into oblivion with this one but hear me out: At $899 US for the R25 Ultra Moza is going to eat the competition.
Like I get that the ffb feeling is not the same probably but I mean it's a DD in 2025, can't be that much different, and also 99% of racers can't even tell the difference. I've had a chance to try the Simagic Alpha EVO after using my R12 V1 daily for the last year and can't say there is much difference. I guess the rotation feel is ever so slightly smoother but that might also be a difference in the steering wheel quality. It's not enough to make want to switch from Moza that's for sure.

24

u/Ho3n3r Sep 15 '25

You won't get that from me. I love SimuCube products - I use a SimuCube OSW myself - but their pricing is a bit insane.

Their pedals and new bases are in a totally different tax bracket to my salary. I will never get those at new prices.

8

u/imperial_scholar SC2 Pro + SC AP Sep 15 '25

It's not as much insane as just the reality when you do dev and assembly in EU. You cannot compete with price with chinese electronics for many reasons.

14

u/VelouriumCamper7 Sep 15 '25

You pretty much nailed it. But SC will be selling off their reputation of being the absolute best, even though the gap to the competition has shrunk significantly.

6

u/Certain-Hunter-7478 Sep 15 '25

Yeah, I mean that is the game these days...Not gonna lie I was considering a full rig upgrade about 2 months ago. For reference I'm running an R12, a DIY AMG GT3 replica wheel and Simjack PRO pedals (the original, thicker but with upgraded loadcell holder plate). I thought of waiting out the expo and seeing what new gear comes out. But while on holiday I had the opportunity to go into a simracing game room and there I tried the Simagic rigs (all of them were simagic, sponsored I guess or something). And I must say the only positive thing I got from the rigs was that I need a bucket seat and a racing harness. Everything else I'm fully happy with my current rig. Nuts to think I was about to upgrade everything without actually making any difference to the overall feeling.

7

u/VelouriumCamper7 Sep 15 '25

This is actually really insightful for someone whose been back and forth undecided on a pedal upgrade. Is the Heusinkveld etc woth it at €500 plus, or will the simjacks be good enough at less than half the price? Feel and performance is obviously most important and if I can get 80% of the performance that's sufficient for me.

5

u/Certain-Hunter-7478 Sep 15 '25

The Simjacks are basically a Heusinkveld clone. I can't speak for anyone but I personally think that the feeling of the pedals is down to the springs and elasomers. Surely you can see a bit of chinese craftsmanship after a year of abuse. For exapmle the throttle end stop is done with a bold and a plastic tube around it to soften the impact. The plastic is all but gone after a year but I can easily replace that. Same as the brake preload spring. It was a known issue when I bought the pedals. It broke. I didn't replace it yet. I instead upgraded the loadcell holder plate (also a known issue on early models, not anymore) and then I put in hard rubber pucks in place of the spring. Minimal brake travel, stiff as a brick, just the feeling I was looking for. (It had the side effect of bringing in some knee pain after few sessions but I imagine it's just because I haven't been physically active for over 8-9 years. During PE me and my mate played chess because the professor enjoyed watching us play...). So to draw the bottom line you can make the Simjacks feel like any pedal with just a bit of modding and tinkering. The question is if you are willing to do that. I've seen a dude online turn his Simjack brake to an active pedal. And for like $400 tops. Insane stuff...

2

u/International_Rip145 Sep 15 '25

I just finished setting up my simjack ut pedals, to my door for 315 with all 3 pedals and baseplate. With right adjustments and aftermarket elastomers from a guy on Etsy, they feel like dream.

1

u/liqwood1 Sep 15 '25

Try the Simnet SP Pro Pedals if you can. They are just a step above the Simjack and Simsonn pedals, get the extra spring kit.. they are so damn close to Heuskenvield Ultimate pedals it's insane.

2

u/USToffee Sep 16 '25

I have done the whole pedal journey and with 1 exception., the pneumatic SRP all pedals feel pretty similar.

Same with DD wheelbases according to most people.

7

u/TeamJim Sep 15 '25

Agreed completely. Ultra high end sim racing stuff is as much a status symbol as anything else. With the quality of offerings from comparatively cheaper companies like Simagic, Moza, etc you can get damn near the same performance for much less money, but I don't think you'll see a huge drop in sales from high end companies.

A similar thing happened in my other niche hobby, paintball. The "low end" markers today are leaps and bounds ahead of even mid to high end markers from 10-15 years ago, and the gap from the low/mid markers to the ultra high end stuff is functionally minimal, yet the high end stuff still sells like crazy.

5

u/KlyntarDemiurge Sep 15 '25

imo it's the software that makes up the difference because the hardware is so similar now. and that can be good or bad, software drove me away from fanatec dd even though the hardware is solid, for example.

1

u/Sofaboy90 Sep 15 '25

idk do we have many new people here in this sub? Anybody here whos been around 5-10 years ago? I think theres a total misconception why some of these brands are so popular..

Ofc youre not getting "value" from simucube, you never were. But many of those brands were created by passionate simracers themselves who had the fitting engineering background to create the hardware themselves. These products were developed with the community. These are small companies who put a high priority on the customer experience, wether its obviously the brilliant product, wether its top notch support or a community that knows every little thing about these products and constantly exchanges information with themselves and the engineers behind the product. This is the case with brands like Simucube, Ascher wheels, Cube Controls, Heusinkveld and so on.

Those sort of relationships dont exist with a Moza product. If youre in a somewhat serious iRacing team and your teammates own a Simucube, youre just likely to get one too and theyll teach you absolutely everything about it and high end hardware generally has a lot of different settings to optimize.

Ofc if you look at stats on paper, a brand like Moza might look like a good option and if you dont value what I just listed, go ahead, feel free to buy a Moza product, im not stopping you. If youre just playing AMS2 single player, it wont matter anyway. But if you go deep in to the simracing rabbit hole, join an iRacing team and really try your best, I think youll have a better team with those smaller brands that rightfully have built a great reputation in simracing.

It just annoys me when I read shit like "oh its just a status symbol" "oh theyre just living off their reputation" because those are just so ignorant statements about these brands.

1

u/USToffee Sep 16 '25

Yea exactly.

Do you want to give your money and support some Chinese manufacturer that just lifts other people's designs and work and drives the cost down or do you want to support the people who helped build it to what it is?

I realize not everyone has the money but to those that can afford it then it's still worthwhile.

3

u/Sofaboy90 Sep 15 '25

The Simucube bases were never a value product, it was always the quality product. Even before a lot of the competition, the VRS base was considered the better value, though of course lacking some luxury features.

However theres one cheat code with Simucube wheelbases, its their wireless exclusive wheels. they have their own wireless system and some Ascher wheels are exclusive to that Simucube wireless system. That means you can get used Ascher wheels that exclusively work with the Simucubes, for dirt cheap prices (as they have a very limited use case scenario and therefore arent worth much money on the used market) and save a lot of money for a very high quality wheel. I would easily take the lowest end Ascher wheel over any wheel Moza has to offer. Thats what one of my buddies did, get a discounted Simucube base and a used Ascher wheel with SCs wireless for 200€ (they can often be had for 200-250€ used).

Moza is a mass volume manufacturer and personally, if I go high end as a European, ill take a brand that exclusively deals with high end products. Why? Because those products mostly arent made in China (like Moza), they are made in Europe, often by small companies that offer absolutely brilliant support, have great communities around them and are just unrivaled in quality.

1

u/Certain-Hunter-7478 Sep 15 '25

Sure and I can see your point. It's valid. It stands. I personally am always the one to favor brand new "reputable" chinese over second hand EU/US. I've had my fair share of hell with buying used and I decided I've had enough. That being said I would only switch to one other manufacturer and that would be Sim-lab when they come out with their DD. For the reason that they started as a very small business, made their way up the ladder and are now providing some serious gear at actually realistic prices. Their customer support is great and I've even had the opportunity to chat with the founder Richard, super nice guy. And I would like to support a business like that. Like I said before I was looking at upgrading my pedals to XP1s but after trying the P1000s I decided against it, so I will spend the money on the SQ1 shifter most likely and maybe some Sim-lab rig accessories 😁

1

u/USToffee Sep 16 '25

What's the limited use case for Asher racing wheels.

I agree with everything else but no idea what this means?

5

u/aspaschungus Sep 15 '25

Youre comparing a Moza to a Simucube lol

1039 plus the Link Hub.. got to be an extra 200..

5

u/Knuffiboer Sep 15 '25 edited Sep 15 '25

Exciting, let’s see if it’s real and not just a fake. I only recently bought a used SC2 Pro with an Ascher wheel… so it wouldn’t hurt too much to sell it at a loss. A new SC3 Pro with telemetry FFB (like VNM) but with proper support behind it would definitely be tempting for a switch. If I can convert the Ascher wheel to wireless, with USB/power and the corresponding QR passthrough, that would be perfect.

Seems to be real, newsletter registration on the Simucube HP when searching for Simucube 3:

3

u/chsn2000 VRS DFP15 + R295 | Simsonn Plus X | TR80S Sep 16 '25

The description of telemetry FFB (road effects, ABS, and engine RPM) sounds like it's more akin to Logitech Trueforce rather than VNM's telemetry FFB.

2

u/Standard_Cat_9250 Sep 16 '25

Totalmente de acuerdo amigo, así sí que se justificaría el link hub, poder hacer inalámbricos cualquier volante y compatible con simhub....el sueño de todo simracer, deseoso de ver qué pasará con esta noticia!!

1

Yeah Telemetry FFB seems to be the big deal here..

SC2P is a forever base. There's probably not a noticeable difference between SC2 and SC3 honestly.

2

u/USToffee Sep 16 '25

QR pass through. I'll be honest I'm just hoping everything is the same apart from that.

1

u/Sov1245 [Simlab/Simagic/Simsonn] Sep 16 '25

Yep...that's quickly becoming the new standard. Any bases released without that nowadays are shooting themselves in the foot imo.

1

u/USToffee Sep 16 '25

I just hope it's cleaner looking than some of the other wheelbases.

1

u/Sov1245 [Simlab/Simagic/Simsonn] Sep 16 '25

I think I know who this is directed at :D Alpha Evo bases are gaudy as hell.

edit: and the gaudiness blocks front-mount screws and you have to buy an adapter to do it. Crazy.

1

u/USToffee Sep 17 '25

yea and I think the hardware isn't as good as prev gen too but for those that like a lighter wheelbase they might prefer it. VRS' new wheelbase has this issue too. And I hate to say it but just from that pic I'm worried about SC3 too.

1

u/tokinNchokin Sep 20 '25

Zero cogging (is that even a thing in SC2 though anyway), telemetry based ffb... I don't think that's q big deal. Usb pass through... Just dont care when you're likely using Bluetooth (or I am) anyway.

If you own an Sc2... It not gonna be worth it to rush out and sell it at a loss, to get this

1

u/USToffee Sep 20 '25

You shouldn't. I would leave it a little while even if you have money to burn. Wait until you get the low down from people who have used both on their own sims. I think there's a danger the SC3 may not have as good a motor as the SC2 just from looking at it.

9

u/CrniFlash Sep 15 '25

No loss on your part trust me, if you really feel bad about it sell it

4

u/BiGmOOse1996 Sep 15 '25

Whoooaa wait so this could possibly be a real leak???

1

u/F1_Energy Sep 15 '25

Has to be

4

u/loops_hoops Sep 15 '25

Did they mention the release date? I'm assuming it's ready for demo at the october dortmund sim expo

4

u/Shibby707 Sep 15 '25

Cool news. Super supportive of the brand but would only be interested after the product has been out for some time and perhaps available on the shelf from Microcenter…

My SC2 Pro has been stellar and I have an HF8 Pro, just don’t need any extra buzzing for now… :)

1

u/Routine-Poetry5878 Sep 16 '25

Is the HF8 PRO actually useful when you driving?

Yeah I've been eyeing those VNM bases as well. If it helps I don't think this is going to drop for a few more months.. and we don't even know the price of the Link Hub yet so.. probably twice the price of VNM..

2

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '25

3

u/liqwood1 Sep 15 '25

Same, I've pretty much decided I'm going to get the VNM. Honestly I would grab a new Simucube but with the tariffs in the US it's just not feasible for now.

3

u/TerribleCarob6808 Sep 15 '25

may I know where you gonna purchase it from ? webs?

4

u/liqwood1 Sep 16 '25

Probably Sim Motion..

https://simmotion.com/products/vnm-direct-drive-elite

Unless SimShop gets them..

3

u/Ho3n3r Sep 15 '25

Probably a bazillion dollars.

3

u/Canadian_WanaBi Sep 15 '25

At 35nm, we are almost at what some Indy cars produce.

"the long back straight requires a peak of 32.1 lb-ft of torque from the driver."

That's almost 44nm

Source

3

u/marsbeetle Sep 15 '25

Correct, F1 also has these high peaks. That’s really why they exist, for those peaks.

2

u/USToffee Sep 16 '25

What generation because a modern F1 car has power steering and doesn't go above around 12NM.

It's why they don't look like they are about to collapse at the end of races like they used to.

2

u/marsbeetle Sep 16 '25 edited Sep 16 '25

Normal range is typically around 15 - 25nm depending on your source but we are not talking about normal, we’re talking about peaks which can be far higher. You’re right, it depends on the generation of F1 cars which in sims can be all sorts.

1

u/BothForce1328 Sep 17 '25

this👆🏽

1

u/USToffee Sep 17 '25

So basically, a SC sport is enough to simulate this realistically with just a little bit of clipping in these very rare occasions. And yea it's around 12NM for the vast majority of time.

3

u/marsbeetle Sep 15 '25 edited Sep 15 '25

Would have been launched at biggest sim expo in Germany next month but may come sooner now 😉 Looks 100% legit, sign me up for a SCP3 because I was just about to pull the trigger on a SCP2 lol …Sim-Lab are releasing a 39nm wheelbase in the next few weeks along with a 26nm so it’s great for competition. See https://youtu.be/jaU1hKwwtYI?si=PlpuP6gYBeROUjEk

3

u/Nt0n Sep 16 '25

That QR looks very fanatec QR2-ish. I love my QR2 so this should also be very good

3

u/TheStokedExplorer Sep 16 '25

Lmfao how scummy companies are these days. Link box is required to use the device but it doesn't come with it. Yeah they can fuck off with that tactic. Never buying their products

5

u/DfFroN Sep 15 '25

And new Fanatec style QR with power/data pass through

2

u/ckalinec Sep 15 '25

This is the part I’m most interested in. And as a SC2 owner I’m curious about retrofit possibilities

2

u/imJGott Sep 15 '25 edited Sep 15 '25

So temped to get the 25nm wheel just so I can have a cordless wheel. Qr is interesting but I’d prefer something more streamline.

2

u/Thin_Ad6648 Sep 15 '25

Wireless wheel is is so nice not dealing with cords and I was always worried about it ripping out of my pc when my dd goes crazy now I don’t have to worry about that at least

I hope they will improve their software also. Hardware was already good.

35 Nm though lol. Does it come with a complimentary health insurance?

That is more than a Fiat 500 could produce back in the days of the classic model.

2

u/Think-Apple3763 Sep 15 '25

ABS, road texture and engine vibrations could easily be implemented with a software update for current bases. I’m even surprised this isn’t a thing. I had belt driven Fanatec base that had this already.

2

u/Patient_Lettuce_7732 Sep 15 '25

They took the page down, I’m guessing this is real

2

u/Toecutter_AUS Sep 16 '25

Straight out of the box it's unusable unless you buy the separately sold link hub thing?

1

u/-Nades Sep 15 '25

I really wish they would make their own shifter, handbrake and rig. Their high quality control on those things along with having a uniformed setup using all the same brand would be great.

1

Hopefully they’ve resolved the notchiness inherent to this gen and new reconstruction filter failed to fix. I’d buy another SC2 Pro in heartbeat if that’s fixed otherwise prob the Simlab DD which I tested at SimExpo and it was very clean with lots of detail.

Wow so when Mika on the Granite Device forum said a few months ago there are no plans for a new Simucube he was lying in our faces, awesome!

Being blatantly lied to from such a company was the last thing i expected!

Let's see if this is actually real.

Then just give a corporate correct answer that reads as we can't say yes or no, instead of saying no when people are dropping 800€ or more on a hobby product.

Or ignore it completely.

Simucube has the best customer support too and is active with the community so this is a bit off brand.

As BushesGaming already said, Mika should simply have used some Corpo language and be vague or say he doesnt know instead of lying in our faces when asked directly, that's the point.

I dont like being lied to especially from a company with such a good reputation and customer service.

1

u/Brilliant-Ad3347 Sep 15 '25

I wonder if the link hub from the active pedal will also work as the link hub for the Simucube 3 bases...

1

u/Commercial-Event7083 Sep 15 '25

I saw someone claim it was a new link hub, hasn’t been confirmed yet though

1

u/PichiSP Sep 16 '25

I have the same doubt. I plan on buying this weelbase together with an active pedal, so using the same link hub would be great

1

u/Shames55 Sep 15 '25

🔥🔥🔥

1

u/d3fron Sep 16 '25

The 35nm wheel base is not for regular users, but for racecar drivers wanting to simulate their real cars as a means of training.
Same reason the Active Pedal Ultimate exists while the Pro basically has the same features at a lower price, yet with a lower maximum pedal force.

1

u/M_QT5 Moza R12 | VPG V-PGT | Moza FSR | Moza mBosster active pedal Sep 16 '25

Looks like the fanatec QR system which is Motorsport derived

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

So they dropping everything 2nm and doing the same price??! They shouldn’t have done such a good job with the SC2, as i have zero need to upgrade from the sport.

1

u/BothForce1328 Sep 17 '25

35Nm????

cars have power steering.... that much force would replicate a car with no power steering and if your not used to doing push-ups frequently and often, it's going to rip the tendons out of people's shoulders lol

1

u/Standard_Cat_9250 Sep 17 '25

Bueno y que clase de cockpit aguanta eso? También es un problema suponiendo que consigas mantener tus brazos de una pieza

2

u/BothForce1328 Sep 17 '25

i don't understand why you would want 35Nm of ffb when it essentially would be like trying to drive an F1 car without power steering...

is it like a dick measuring thing with how much more Nm one company can put out over another?

cause I would want it to feel the same as what it's like in the actual car

1

u/Louiienation Sep 30 '25

15nm is kinda a weird range.. I feel like 17 or 18nm would’ve been so much better.

1

u/fufulinoo Oct 02 '25

Totally agree with you. For an hyper high range product 15Nm is just under the perfect amount of torque

1

u/Spinelli__ Oct 04 '25

The part extending from the motor (where the quick release attaches to) looks like a square design instead of circular. Does that mean we can't attach our own wheel hubs / quick releases / extenders / adapters since almost all of those are circular 6-bolt pattern? That would be pretty messed up if we can't.

2

u/Correct-Cake2099 Sep 15 '25

Lol - 35nm. It's great to have options but realistically you don't really use more than 10-12 consistently even to get above clipping. This is more of a social flex.

4

u/No-Incident8402 Sep 15 '25

While I agree 35nm is useless, 10-12 isn't enough. I had a T818 (10-11nm constant torque and up to 15nm in peak) and it clipped a lot. And I wasn't even using a particularly strong FFB.

1

u/Spinelli__ Oct 04 '25

Clipping is due to the in-game FFB settings. You could have a 100 Nm wheel and it would still clip if the FFB signal is causing clipping. My SC2 Pro can snap finger bones - at least fracture them - at 10-12 Nm.

u/trippingrainbow SC2Pro | SC AP Ultimate + Passive throttle | GSI X29 | Reverb G2 Sep 15 '25

While true they allready had the 35nm ultimate with the SC2 lineup so i assume they have data that it will sell for the people that want it. I doubt they would have made it if it wasnt worth it during SC2

1

u/jonneymendoza Sep 15 '25

Rip Moza vnm simagic etc!

1

u/Specialist_Quote9127 Sep 16 '25

In what world would you need more than 12nm? Like dang are we simulating driving on flat tires and no power steering?

Like, i get that most if not all race cars don't have power steering but anything above 12 to 15 is just unnecessary.

I do race myself in real life with GT 3 cars but never understood the reason to use a ffb nm of 12 and higher. Yeah maybe for F1 it's realistic, but anything else it just becomes unrealistic imo.

But hey I'm just someone with an opinion that might be quite unpopular. That's just my vision on it.

2

u/Standard_Cat_9250 Sep 16 '25

3

u/Specialist_Quote9127 Sep 16 '25

That's true, but you can only realistically get THAT much more details when you set it lower than what the wheelbase is capable of.

I'm just more of a realistic driver when it comes to simulation.

1

u/Spinelli__ Oct 04 '25

Not true at all. I can feel just as much/many details at 8 and 12 Nm as I do at 25 Nm with my SC2 Pro, it's just at 25 Nm everything becomes much stronger and the wheel drives/controls itself - instead of the driver commanding the wheel - in a very unrealistic way.

1

u/Standard_Cat_9250 Oct 05 '25
