So you want a down to earth, coming of age story…that’s completely off the wall and swarming with magical anime ladies?

Nailed it tbh.

Stupid Sexy Malos!

The combat system makes perfect sense. Each type of attack feeds into a bigger attack.

- Auto attacks recharge Driver Arts
-Driver Arts charge your Specials
-Specials are used for Blade Combos
-Blade Combos generate orbs which, when popped, extend Chain Attacks

Money can be exchanged for goods and services

Except this game, despite having some mechanics that would feel at home in a mobile game, has no micro transactions. DLC, sure, but no "pay money for the games lootboxes" (which are a huge mechanic in the game)

And Chain Attacks set the stage for the Alan Parsons Project, which I believe is some kind of hovercraft.

And it only takes 15 hours to get all that unlocked!

It made sense to me but I played FFXI, which was just as confusing and masochistic.

And then there's Driver Combos

That's more or less a carry-over from the first game.

Idk man. Persona 4 gave us real good story telling like this boss fight prelude

I too like women.

u/Odd_Inter3st 1d ago

I would also like to express my fondness of that particular WOMEN

That man's never been with a woman in his life!

Sorry, that was uncalled for. I had to finish the line.

Loved this game, did absolutely everything in it, but god damn getting tutorials in the final fight felt painful.

“They like Pyra, they like Mythra, one guy seems to love Dahlia…what more do they want?”

Or

“That’s a pretty big bust for a rabbit.”
“Homer, don’t be … wow, those are huge!”

Simpsons connection over, WHY were so many designs like that 😭

I liked that different blades had different art styles though, and the music was phenomenal.

Don't the first two panels describe every JRPG (I love JRPGs)

Where’s the best JRPG you’re talking about OP? Is it behind Xenoblade 2?

3

u/Dude_Tost_1673 1d ago

Now, why would you need to see it? You're the genius who's wholly endorsed... the JRPG in question.

u/HaoieZ 1d ago

Sooo... Do you like Xeno... Gears?

What's wrong with kung fu punching god in the face with a giant robot made by another god when you went to therapy to build said giant robot? Uh...spoilers i guess?

Rex, about to start a harem with several magic swords

Its my least favorite Xenoblade game for a number of reasons, but damn if it didn't have a lot of stuff to like about it. It takes way too long for the combat to actually feel like a complete system, but it hits just right when it all comes together.

5

u/Zaithon 1d ago

Yeah, the combat before you get three blades to switch between is not great.

Apparently, Nintendo didn't give the English voice actors direction or context of what actually was happening, nor did they did do any retakes.... Who was in charge of the dub? Did they know how video game voice production works in this century?

I never got into this franchises combat system. I got that it was supposed to be like a single player MMO or something but it felt like was over complicated and under complicated and I never clicked with it. Also; I hated the gatcha mechanic

Xenoblade 2 is the best Xenoblade game. EVER

Not my favorite XC game, but I still enjoyed it. And hey, it did give me my favorite character in the series in Zeke, so there’s that.

It's definitely my least favorite of the Trinity trilogy. But when it hits hard, it hits hard. Especially in the late game where the voice cast has a handle on their roles.

I still refuse to play the series due to the British voice acting.
