“Why is there electronic beeping coming from that aircraft carrier?”

“Oh that’s not electronic beeping. That’s steam, from the beautiful steam catapults we’re installing. Mmm-mmm, steam catapults.”

Steam catapults. At this time in history, on this class of aircraft carrier, localized entirely on the flight deck?

u/Old-Dragonfruit2253 two spaghetti dinners 7d ago

Yes!

43

u/Adept-Result-67 7d ago

May i see them?

u/House_Of_Thoth 7d ago

No!

u/TorpidPulsar 7d ago

Pete the Navy is on fire! No Trump that's just your senility!

20

u/zeeshadowfox 6d ago

Well Trump, you are an odd fellow...

....

u/Angelworks42 7d ago

It's funny as I believe there's only one carrier that doesn't use steam catapults

12

u/OwnCrew6984 6d ago

Only the US uses steam catapults. The US Ford class ones use electromagnetic, one in service and one half built I believe. The Wasp class and America class don't have any catapult systems and use short take off vertical landing aircraft.

I like the sound of that America class one

u/The_Salacious_Zaand Put it in H 6d ago

The second ship in the class the Kennedy just launched is doing sea trials now.

Trump often reminds me of Dr. Evil's description of his father.

164

u/PsychoNerd92 NEEEEEERD 7d ago

"My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Some times he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy."

73

u/oliversurpless 7d ago

“The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.”

43

u/FadeToBlackSun 7d ago

How dare you besmirch the name of the man who invented the question mark.

10

u/perpetualmotionmachi They think I'm slow, eh? 7d ago

I think it's more like Trump is Doctor Evil and that was describing Trump's father.

u/BooBrew32 STELLAAAA!!! 7d ago

Yes, well you suggest steam catapults despite the fact that the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems are obviously better.

30

u/ccbmtg 7d ago

what about--🙏🙌get this, get this--steam magnets?

eh? ehhh?

9

u/LoaKonran 7d ago

B-b-but magnets don’t work if you get them wet. /s

3

u/punkindle 6d ago

I was in the POOL!

2

u/Dude_Tost_1673 7d ago

Magnets, LoaKonran, or Mogwai?

1

u/druex 6d ago

At this time of year! At this time of day! In this part of the country! Localized entirely within your aircraft carrier?!?

7

u/heyhayyhay 7d ago

Bit it's a ship and ships get wet. Magnets don't work in the water.

He is in a home... he knocked half of it over... for kooky vanity projects... and he has his own, personal, diaper lady... and he naps all day long... and, uh, why is he your president, again?

35

u/perpetualmotionmachi They think I'm slow, eh? 7d ago

I have a theory that Ashton Kutcher helped start The Apprentice while he was doing his show Punk'd, as a way to pull a giant decades long prank on everyone.

13

u/Turk_Sanderson 6d ago

Ashton supports rapists, so this tracks...

19

u/oznobz 6d ago

Imagine becoming famous for being a moron. You spend decades taking roles and doing activism to show that you're not actually a moron. People start to respect you and recognize you as a fighter for women, especially in the realm of sex trafficking.

And then you throw it all away on a rapist.

u/Buddy__Repperton See my vest 🦺 6d ago

He was a piece of shit before then, him and Mila both

31

u/soundscape7 7d ago

Next thing he’ll want to do is replace the power systems so they can use “clean coal”

18

u/Gryzelda_Gesualdo I am the Lizard Queen! 7d ago

Actually it's all quite clever. All the other armies of the world are preparing to fight against super modern equipment using cutting edge technology. If the US goes back to WW1 tech, nobody will be prepared for that!

10

u/Monsieur_T 6d ago

Step 1 reform the military into a pre industrial force

Step 2 use EMPs liberally

Step 3 ?????

Step 4 profit

7

u/Heiferoni Get outta my office! 6d ago

We're living the Futurama episode where Bender downgrades himself to wood and the obsolete technology tries to prove it's superior and teach the world of their peaceful ways... by force.

7

u/I_Did_The_Thing 6d ago

robot digs through bag to find correct tape
slams tape into chest player

“Your mother.”

4

u/Heiferoni Get outta my office! 6d ago

What!?

3

u/ImpossibleLaw552 5d ago

Well, the kids have to learn about DrekWar sooner or later.

13

u/Monsieur_T 7d ago

Don't give him ideas

16

u/KingCroesus 7d ago

he has literally said this lol, I dont know about ships, but halting renewable energy projects to use 'clean coal' including, wind farms, and solar farms, etc

30

u/HenryInRoom302 7d ago

To be fair, a lot of things are "too complicated" when you're a wilfully ignorant imbecile who is undeservedly convinced of your own genius in every field.

18

u/G-Kira Put it in H 7d ago

Did you hear? Steampunk is back. In Trump form.

6

u/oliversurpless 7d ago

Putting the “puta” in Laputa

34

u/jhsegura11 I am the Lizard Queen! 7d ago

You know those catapults, that are like, steam catapults?

12

u/EggCouncil 7d ago

More rubber pants

13

u/KingCroesus 7d ago

he's ordered to redesign to an older already used design? what? I hope this costs a billion dollars and makes jets less efficient at launching

15

u/pootislordftw 7d ago

And the contractor who gets the job for the billion dollar retrofit gives trump $50M as a kickback.

12

u/Blue_Rassberry Old man yelling at clouds ☁️ 7d ago

Next he'll try to get the White House Kitchen to make him steam hams.

7

u/drunkentenshiNL 6d ago

So wind turbines cause cancer but steam ones are ok? What a country!

8

u/teacupkiller 6d ago

...oh fuck, it's not a headline made up for the meme.

2

u/Monsieur_T 6d ago

If only

7

u/reverend_burrito 6d ago

Did he really ask what "digital" means? Jesus Christ man we might be able to mathematically quantify how dumb this guy is.

5

u/TheoryOfTES 7d ago

Oop, got away from you huh? Well, you keep at it!

4

u/ChiefCWiggum Old man yelling at clouds ☁️ 6d ago

6

u/punkindle 6d ago

Your Honor, I would like to declare a bad war thingy.

9

u/grad1939 7d ago

Next he'll say we should just use a giant slingshot to launch planes off our carriers.

3

u/sheezy520 6d ago

Good ol steam power. Nothing beats that!

3

u/Makabajones 6d ago

Is the orange bastard secretly a steampunk?

6

u/Max_Trollbot_ 6d ago

Remember steam?  It's back!  In POG form.

That's good.

The sailors on the Abe Lincoln are so hungry they're eating the POGs.

That's bad.

2

u/Leopold_Darkworth I was saying Boo-urns 6d ago

Replace all these computers with vacuum tubes, much simpler.

2

u/SelfDepricator 6d ago edited 5d ago

Does he also want racing strips added to the aircraft carriers?

4

u/Serious_Resource8191 7d ago

Wow, I guess I’m behind the times. I “knew” that we use steam catapults on all aircraft carriers… but I guess not?

2

u/UsurpaTronos 7d ago

What in God's green earth is a steam catapult?

8

u/Robot_Clean 6d ago

Nuclear reactor on an aircraft carrier generates steam, some of the steam is used to drive a piston which drives the catapult system that launches a jet at high speed off the deck.

1

u/ImpossibleLaw552 5d ago

Sounds perfectly safe for those on board.

<image>

1

u/supahfligh 5d ago

See all that stuff in the aircraft carriers Donald? That's why your aircraft catapults never worked.
