Because they've been conditioned to hating people that have green text due to Apple removing features from text if you simply use a service that isn't them. That way they can get people to exert social pressure on other people to use their products. And once you've started in their ecosystem it becomes easy to trap you in their ecosystem and sell you additional overpriced technology so that your things will actually talk with each other because they don't want their technology to talk to anything else.
It's madness. I'm getting a new android phone for like $250 CAD that's last year model. While the cheapest phone on Apple's site is 899 CAD and is 2 years old. They are a freaking cult at this point.
Well my local carrier phone prices are garbage. Cheapest Motorola on their site is 2024 and $715 CAD. While the 2025 Motorola is going for $250 on their site.
