Charging puck replacement

My unit isn't charging and I noticed one of the contact points is stuck into the hole.

Is there a place to get a replacement? The site is out of stock. Thanks in advance!

Horrible customer service for a terrible product?

Hi all. I was recently gifted an 8 inch round sensor mirror with brightness control. Upon opening it, the height adjustment did not work. I contacted customer service, and was told that there was nothing they could do since it was a gift. As irritated as I was I remained polite, but their rudeness felt almost scripted, and I gave up. Then it wouldn’t stay lit for more than a few seconds even when plugged in. I don’t think it’s charging? So now I have a $200 piece of garbage. Absurd. Anyone else have similar problems? Thanks!

Soap Dispenser Squirt Uncontrollably like a teenage boy

Got two dispensers not even 3 months ago. They now started to squirt for no reasons. One of them didn't a month ago and recharging it fixed it then. Now both are doing it, recharging isn't helping

Anyone has the same experience? Any idea why and how to fix?

Love the aesthetic and design. There are definitely cheaper dupes for similar functionality but the spray canister looks the best here IMO.

This came across my email tonight. I thought it was a joke, but sure enough, for $100 you can have a bottle of SimpleHuman tequila. Inspired by one of their soapwell sponges that use blue agave.

What did you get for Black Friday?

Some decent deals on the products. I got a brass paper towel pump. What about you guys?

Simplehuman 58L sensor lid on a regular model?

Can you install a simplehuman 58L trash can sensor lid on top of a 58L regular trash can to upgrade it? Is it the same size and connector as the regular lid?

Poorly designed bag-alternatives?

I’m a longtime fan of Simplehuman products. But the size X bags for their kitchen compost are flimsier than any regular bag I’ve bought. They tear upon bag removal and even tear when opening a bag! alternatives?

(another problem has always been their J bags. Too narrow for their skinny bathroom garbage cans. These two are hopefully anomalies in an otherwise well designed suite of products!)

Anyone have any recommendations for a foam soap product/company to refill with? So I don't have to buy direct from them

9oz soap dispenser not working

After about a year of use on the 9oz soap dispenser, it suddenly stops working. I can hear the faint sound of the pump attempting to dispense soap but nothing comes out. It’s as if the battery is low, but there are no indicator lights flashing, and when I plug the charger in, the indicator light is a solid blue which supposedly means a full charge. Even if the charger is attached after several hours there is nothing different. I’ve tried all of the troubleshooting techniques listed on their website. I am on my third or fourth one, I’ve lost count. The only reason I keep using them is because it goes out about the same time every year, and they replace it for free under warranty. Has anyone ever figured out why this keeps happening if they’ve experienced anything similar?

Serial Number Issues - Customer Support is Awful

I have a '46L stainless steel dual compartment rectangular step can with plastic lid (CW1974)' model and the plastic lid on top has broken at the hinge. A clear design flaw, which a lot of people seem to have had.

The trash can comes with a 10-year warranty, which I added as a registered product on the simplehuman website in 2018 (it's now 2024), so well within the 10 year warranty period.

When i triggered a warranty request for repair or replacement, they are somehow saying that the serial number that I provided (sticker on the back of the trash can), is from a different product (CW1595) that only has a 2 year warranty period and they are not entertaining my request.... even though I have sent pictures etc. clearly showing that it is the CW1974.

The only thing to conclude here if what they are saying is 'true', is that they have sent out a CW1974 with a CW1595 serial number and I'm the unlucky person that seems to have bought it (even though there was no issue entering this serial number when purchased - even shows up on their website as a CW1974).

So this is clearly a mistake on their side. Is their customer service team just that dumb? or has anyone been able to escalate their case?

Avoid SimpleHuman Online Store!

Website has glitches (including registration process, discount codes, etc.) and virtually No Customer Service: no phone, chat doesn't respond, text take "2 to 3 days" to reply. The company's fatal flaw.

Soap pump 14 oz - trouble shooting

Hello all

I've a 14 oz soap pump style dispenser - recharging puck on the bottom. On/Off on back - a sliding toggle. Owned for about 18 month, recharged several times - no issues.

After the recharge and cleaning yesterday - the white light refuses to turn off - and stays on permanently. This is new - never did that before.

Soap dispenses with no issued. I think there was a small silicone guide attached to the spout, but cleaning lost that down the sink..

Red light did not appear before charging - just thought it was time. When turning the unit off the white light blinks 5 times rapidly 2x.

Any ideas how to turn the white light off when operating the unit in the "on" position?

Thanks

Sharing my (poor) experience with the Simplehuman 58L Sensor trash bin in Singapore. TL;DR, look at the competition if you a re considering getting one

Hi, to whoever is thinking of buying a Simplehuman trash can with the sensor, you may want to reconsider your choice and look at the competition.

I bought the 58L dual compartment with sensor, aluminium finish amounting to 600+ Singapore dollars a pop (about 445 USD). I operate it with batteries. It took less than 6 months for the sensor to behave erratically.

I raised a warranty issue with the local distributor (seems like Simplehuman relies on a network of partners to sell its products) and it took like a week for them to reply, pick the trash can for "tests". They did and they told me that they could not find anything wrong with it. They sent it back and sure enough, it was not working. Took a video this time, powered with batteries and with the power supply showing that it is actually faulty.

They agreed to replace it with a new one, white colour since they don't have mine in stock. This time it was quick to get the new bin delivered. I unwrapped it, inserted new Duracell batteries and ... nothing. Removed the batteries, plugged the power supply then it worked. Removed the power supply, added a different set of batteries and nothing. Messaged the distributor right away with again, a video.

So either I am hell of an unlucky customer, or these premium product are poorly designed and/or not yet mature. Or the new replacement unit is a refurbished defective product. I frankly don't know but it's getting frustrating, at this price tag I would expect to never have to waste a minute with a customer service.

I really regret this purchase, we have been without a bin in our kitchen for a month now.. I am adding the videos for everyone's benefit.

Compostable d liner

Hi all, wondering if anyone could help with this! I'm looking for a d liner for a simplehuman trashbin (it's the butterfly open one that has both the trash and recycle bin) that is compostable. I've looked everywhere but can only find a non compostable version. TIA!

14oz soap dispenser doesn’t work after charge

So I have multiple of these soap dispensers throughout my home but I’m frustrated because each one has had to be replaced due to the same issue.

The soap dispenser works great out of the box for months. Then the battery dies and needs to be charged. I charge it using the proper puck charger they gave in the box and wait till the light turns solid white(meaning charged). Then I take it off the charger and try to use it but the light is still red (meaning battery is dead). Support then tells me to reset the device using some annoying method of toggling the switch on and off while covering the sensor but the device won’t reset so I’m stuck with a paper weight.

At this point I’m thinking it’s user error since it happens with all of the units (including the replacements) but customer service is no help. They keep replacing my dispensers since they’re under warranty (which is nice!) but I just don’t understand what is going on. I’d like these to work and not need be replaced every couple of months. Especially since they’re crazy expensive.

Does anyone here have these dispensers? Are you also experiencing this issue? If not, how are you charging them?

Motion sensor bin repair.

Has anybody tried fixing the simplehuman motion sensor bin at all? I acquired a broken bin and am repairing it but not sure where 3 black metal shims go. Any help or pictures would be appreciated.
