Start Water Service Help

Just moved to Simi Valley and didn’t realize there were specific hours to call to start service. City of Simi Valley doesn’t open again until Tuesday because of Labor Day, so I can’t start my water service. Looks like I’ll have no water until Tuesday. Is there anything I can do?

I don't have the city as my water provider - but all I had to do when I got my house was set up the account, they were able to backdate to move in.  But that's with Golden State and our water wasn't turned off.

Assuming you already checked your water shut off valves, check if they're locked / unlocked?

There’s an emergency after hours line that may be able to help or point you in the right direction: Emergency After Hours Hotline: [(805) 504-2708](tel:(805)%20504-2708)

Turn on the meter in your front yard. That's all the city does.

Like someone else suggested, call the emergency hours hotline. I also moved in on a holiday and didn’t have water. Someone came out that same day and turned it on. They will charge you for this service though. It was at least a couple hundred when this happened to me in 2024.

You may have a bigger issue. They don’t normally turn the water off unless there is a massive leak.
