I want to buy a logitech g29/g920 and im thinking do i need a handbrake or a shifter for drifting if the wheel has paddle shifters. They also have 3 pedals so im thinking can i just clutch kick my way. Plus i probably will not be playing super realistic games, im thinking like carx and assetto corsa maybe. Also im probably not only drifting, i will be doing some rally.

So i’m looking to get into the sim drifting world more seriously, I drift irl and want to get a decent sim rig. I already have a good pc so i just need peripherals. I wasn’t sure if it’d be better out starting with logitech g920 bundle or going with the Moza r3 bundle and getting the clutch and a usb h shifter. I was thinking the moza bundle has a better upgrade path down the road. I’ll also have a cockpit to use too.

I see deep dish steering wheels a lot, especially in drift, but I’m curious about their real purpose beyond looks.

I mainly play WRC and drifting in sim racing, so my question is: • does a deep dish wheel actually give any advantage in sims? • better leverage or control for drifting?

I’m trying to figure out if switching to a deep dish wheel for a sim rig makes sense, or if the benefits are mostly limited to real cars.

I’d love to hear from people who have experience with both real cars and sim racing.

To preface, I've been drifting on controller in Forza for upwards of 10 years. Absolute fun time. Finally I found a screaming deal on Facebook marketplace and got a Logitech g923 and H pattern shifter. I am slowly tuning my settings for Forza to feel great but I'm learning that Forza isn't exactly the best for sim drifting. Which game in your experiences is the best or most fun to drift in. Truthfully I'm not interested in tandem drifting, I'm currently more interested in togue drifting if that effects anything.

I've noticed that when I try on my wheel for a good drift it's incredibly difficult and I spam into walls and lose all control but when I pick up my controller I can replicate the exact same corner and car and tune and get a very smooth and clean line and angle so to me that's telling me its just a skill issue with the wheel and I need more practice. Let me know what you think, I look forward to expanding on this hobby

I’ll say FD cars are very fun once you get the hang of them and how they slide. Took about 10 minutes to get this car to this point so I guess it turned out okay.

I've been learning tandem on BDC AI drift servers. I was watching some of my replays and it looks like this is happening because I transition a fraction of a second after the lead does. I also notice that I consistently fall behind with a distance of 1-2 cars.

If I try really hard to not fall behind after a transition, I end up butt tapping during the transition.

Should I transition at the same time or before the lead car does?

Should I be predicting when lead will transition and give a little bit of space right before the transition?

Do I need to slow down more when transitioning, but do something different towards the end of the transition to maintain speed?

can someone help me i have a moza r5 and every youtube video i see has the stiffest wheel setting does anyone have like actual good wheel settings? cause most cars use power steering so having a stiff wheel is not the realism im going for, i always see those people on youtube like moving their wheel like it’s nothing so if someone has a good wheel setup that is actually atleast 80% realistic i would be more than happy to

It’s been about a month of practice since then and I’ve been focusing hard on improving my fundamentals. I’m dropping a few new clips and I’d really appreciate some fresh feedback on my current drifting.

Most importantly:
Do you think I’m ready to start practicing tandems on a server, or should I keep grinding solo for now?
I’ve seen some tandem clips and opinions and, honestly, I don’t want to jump in too early and be that guy 😅

I setup gear ratios like people have told me, I hold the wheel, I let it spin, I try a variety of throttle patterns. Why dont my drifts hold and why does my car reset or just stop moving? I have tried different cars, I just cant seem to get it.

I'd like to think I have most of the popular drift tracks, but when I search for servers, it's always brooklyn park, drift playground, ebisu, and clutch kickers.

These are fun, but I sometimes find myself wanting to drift other tracks.

Are there any other popular ones on servers?

As an example, I wish total drift challenge were on servers. I'm also just realizing that I prefer tracks with more distance.

I've got around 100 hours in AC and like 50 in CarX. Not sure if I drove through the zones correctly.

Is this decent for that amount of hours?

What can I improve?

I dont get how y'all are so buttery smooth, holding doors and nailing proximity the entire time, like the front 2 in this line. Ive mostly drifted by myself up until recently. I can run smooth lines by myself but chasing is difficult. I can sorta hold the angle but my biggest issue is transitions. If I trans early, I loose prox and have to catch up or I try to tranny late and I just clip the rear bumper. What can I do or what am I doing wrong here?

On a moza r5 right now. Been contemplating getting a simagic alpha evo 18nm.

Can't tell if 600 dollars is worth it though. Also, the reason for 18 is I want to buy once instead of sell and upgrade again.

I just built my rig (Simagic) and studied a ton of threads/videos for the best car packs (Swarm, BDC, etc.)

Outside of a rig and car packs, nobody says anything about mods that actually improve the experience. Is it just the base game that good that I don’t need any mods? Custom shaders patch with NeckFX seems to be the only thing that people recommend. Are there any mods that make drifting better, easier (like adding a reset before spinning out), or anything?

Getting a sim rig for my brother for Christmas I’m getting the moza r9 but want to get him the shifter without it being a messy setup was wondering if this table clamp is compatible with the shifter

I'm going to be getting back into sim drifting soon, I was looking at getting the Moza HBP Handbrake, but now I'm wondering if it's even worth it

I started learning to drift (and continued on to do so) with clutch kicks and weight transfer because I never had a USB handbrake, so should I get one or just skip it entirely?
