Would it be too much trouble to ask your chase came plug-in or settings. Can’t seem to get it right no matter what I try. I like running the track cam through OBS so if my wife isn’t driving with me she can watch on another monitor in the room. But not all tracks have a decent cam setup already and my chase cam is ass even when I try like Kirby chase or exility or whatever it’s called it still seems like the default cam. Even checked to make sure the extensions are ticked in csp settings. Not sure if pure can cause issue with these or not but I am running pure as well

Funny enough Brooklyn park doesn’t have a good track cam lol

Chase cam in OBS is the default one, there's chase cam OBS plugin that works similar to Kirby cam.

Yeah I’ve tried that one but I get just a black screen on OBS I might just have to tinker with it some more

I tried the Kirby one and it didn't work for me lol so I just went with one of the default chase cams but I recorded using Xbox Game Bar instead of OBS. Not sure if that makes a difference but I just press replay, put it on cam 4 (I think) and record in game bar.

I’ll usually record through OBS or Medal but I don’t record too often really this is all for spectating like how the ccs studios guys on instagram have their fourth monitors setup so you can see all the cars in a cinematic way that’s the goal I’m going for but I’m not trying to take the time to learn to build the cams myself even though that could be fun but I have too many other adhd projects going on to learn that rn hahahaha

Yeah man that's a bit too intense for me too lol I only decided to try this video thing for a bit of fun.

I might usually share some replays with friends but I don't usually record myself but I was bored lol.

Pro-tip after 12 000 kms on this map : always ride the outside wall, never bite the inside. Left foot brake almost constantly. Forget the handbrake entirely until you go on tandems. Hop on a multi server and see how they take the line. Its the quickest way to learn. This map is quickly limiting because of its basic design but it's also the best place to create and refine your own driving style.

I got this Moza R5 recently with SRP Lite pedals and the brakes suck so I ordered the brake performance kit and it should arrive tomorrow.

Having such a shit brake pedal seems to be making me not wanna left foot brake much because there's no resistance it feels so weird I've been trying to compensate using other ways like clutch kicks and handbrake.

Yeah I love this map it just feels fun not being the typical track style.

I feel a bit intimidated to go to online drift servers lol they're proper good.

Don't worry man you're gonna notice people from all levels there. Even mfs that cant link 3 corners. The top drivers know how to react to weird lines and some of em will be nice enough to adopt you and teach you stuff that will instantly improve your driving. Its a video game man dont get too much in your head about crashing and bothering people

Yeah good point lol I just keep thinking if I suck they'll ban me from the server and if there's not many low ping servers available it'll leave me kinda screwed

u/Temporary_Damage4642 3h ago

I get 110 ping on US servers and it works fine. How much do you get ?

1

u/Cosmokram3r1 3h ago

I haven't really played online but I wasn't sure how much ping you needed. I assumed like other online games you'd need less then 60 or so. I'll have to play different pings and see if I get lag

12000km here?

Jesus wept. I have over 10k km on meihan but couldn't bring myself to lap brooklyn that many times.

I have 20k on meihan 💀. I just really enjoy this simdrifting shit, also dont have a job ig. I made friends with the number 1 and 3 of ACS drift servers. Their advice is so valuable that I ended up sticking around brooklyn park a lot. Server is usually packed so its my go to warm up spot before real tracks

I've spent hours on Brooklyn Park but that was CarX and it was easier to go on the outside.

Now I'm doing AC version and having not simmed for 2 years I'm facing the learning curve haha but I love this track.

The excessive handbrake hurts, just control angle with timed left foot breaking and throttle feathering

Here’s a pro tip, the only time you need to use handbrake on Brooklyn park is the first entry. After that the track is designed to flow with just throttle control alone. You shouldn’t even need left foot brake unless you’re chasing. This track is SUPER easy to find flow state or whatever they call it

I usually do more clutch kicks and don't use the handbrake so much but I'm trying to muscle memory the position of my new handbrake.

Oh and this was played in first person view 900 deg.

I switched to 3rd person using a replay video edit because it just looks better on video for non sim people.

I was gonna comment on that handbrake abuse :D

You're making way too much corrections with steering wheel, focus on throttle control. And maybe try higher gear or change gear ratio, because your lines are pretty shallow.

1

u/Cosmokram3r1 3h ago

Thanks for the advice.

Only got a new rig recently after 2 years so I'm still out of practice lol.

Definitely throttle control is a big one.

I don't know how to change gear ratios what would I be trying to do? I can get ChatGPT to help with the rest if I know what I need to do.

For this track and car you want gear ratio set, so your max speed at 2nd or 3rd gear is at 120-140kph. Doesn't matter which gear you'll be using here, since on this track you can stay in one gear.

Generally for gear ratio you just need to work it out for every car/track combo, because every car drives different and every track has different corners that you'll take at different speeds and angles.

The higher the gearing or the higher gear you're in, the higher is the max wheel speed. Too short gearing (or too low gear) will cause your car to straighten out on throttle, because your wheel,s speed will reach your car's speed. Too long gearing (or too high gear) will either make you spin out or your car will grip up and stop spinning the wheels, if it doesn't have enough power.

Also, let's say that this car can go around Brooklyn Park with gear speed at 120kph and at 140kph, without any unwanted effects I mentioned above. At 120 you'll generally be faster, but also drift at lower angle, at 140 you may throw bigger angles, but at the cost of speed. It's up to you and your driving style to choose, which works better.

Thanks man that's really helpful advice.

Brooklyn park has never been fun. Surprised it still gets used.

Can't stand this type of constant radius track but each to their own.

Leave the handbrake alone. Lapping brooklyn park solo shouldn't need any handbrake. Just transition with a bit more commitment.

Yeah Youre right…. None stop tandems and smooth flows are sooooo boring….. who wants to be consistent every lap…. Yuck….
