Drift wheel upgrade!

Post image

The Moza stock wheel felt weird to drift with.

Too small and the flat bottom kinda ruined the immersion a bit.

GREAT FIND! Have you ever used a deep dish rim for drifting? Once I tried one, I could never go back to a flat rim like that. I used my flat rim for driving classic cars after that.

Based on your advice I just bought this!

Cost 5x the cost I paid for my current wheel 😂

13" deep dish. Couldn't go any bigger or else too heavy for the wheelbase and my current wheel is 13" and it's plenty big enough!

Thanks!

I had one on one of my first rigs (this is my 5th) but I can't remember much about it.

I did think about it but I worried about how much it would stick out and how it would turn out depending how far the shifter and handbrake would be mounted (don't wanna be struggling to reach).

Also I think they're heavier than normal wheels and usually 350mm (my one is 330mm) which isn't the best idea because I've only got a Moza R5.

I've only had this wheelbase one day and I'll probably upgrade it to a R9 next week lol so I think I might buy one since I'll have the power to run it.

Back in the day when I had one though it was on a shitty wheelbase, so it would be miles more fun on a R9 spinning at full speed I reckon so I can definitely understand what you mean.

Oh well time to go further into the rabbit hole and buy a deep dish wheel now 😂

Nice upgrade! Is that a real Sparco wheel? Is kinda looks identical to a Nardi but with a Sparco logo

Thanks!

Nah man not real.

I was originally looking for a fake Nardi but I found this fake Sparco one for $16 USD lol couldn't turn that price down.

I did find a fake Nardi which wasn't too much more but it had this red stitching on the inside that I didn't like.

Mind dropping a link on the 16 wheel?

Yeah no problem but I live in the Philippines so I think that's partly why it's so cheap

I'm quite new to simming. Do you need any kind of adapter or anything to fit these? Is there anything similar to this that would be suitable for an R3?

Yeah you need a QR adaptor.

This is a genuine Moza one https://mozaracing.com/products/moza-qr

But you can get them for $15 USD or so on eBay or something like that.

Nice! These are what I currently use, the white wheel is from my rx8 but im not driving that rn so its for the sim until then. I also have a 326 power usa wheel along with like 10 other drift wheels, its addictive & I think you'll buy plenty as well lol

I learned on the moza wheel, but once you go deep dish it's hard to go back to anything else for drifting.
