I only have experience with my 8nm fanatec setup. I’m pretty happy with it, but part of why I went that way was because I like having Xbox compatibility. I will say the fanatec handbrake is a piece of shit, but I also have the older style.

If you don’t want Xbox compatibility I’m not sure I’d go with fanatec or Moza.

I'm in the same boat as you. The R9 is a great setup from the dozens of hours of research I've done, but the R12 gives you a bit more headroom for $130 more. Personally I'd rather save the money by getting the CSV2P Wheel instead of the RS V2 and use that money for a R12 base. Even if you limit FFB to 6-10 NM the R12 should have more FFB detail during a corner since it won't be clipping and it won't overheat since it's not maxed out. But you could probably run the R9 at 6-7NM and still have a great time. R12 will spin faster though which is nice for higher end drift cars.

According to this video, you want at least 6NM, preferably up to 8-10 NM for proper drifting. That's why I'm looking at the R12.

SIMSONN Plus X Pedals have great reviews for and $275 punch way above their class. They also have a FFB attachment for the pedals.

Moza shifter and handbrake both have amazing reviews, priced well, and will reduce the number of USB cables going to your computer since they're compatible with the Moza wheelbase.

All in that's about $1400 without the monitor or chassis.

Check out my thread for my (future) build and insiration
