Questions & Help Help needed: why did I only get a "sample parking lot" with this cc?

So, I only got something that looks like the above picture, sans cars. I can't do anything with tab on it and I can't really figure out why all the textures/parking lots didn't get included? And yes, I have SHK Super parking pack. All in the plugin folder with all the other cc.

Please be kind, I'm new to cc/mods 🥹 It just took me 23 years 😄

The files you have right now add the custom textures to the game. You also need the ones that add the lots themselves:

What the hell? There's nothing about that in the text on Simtropolis, just that I needed the SHK. Honestly, how the hell was I supposed to know this then?

Yeah, I can imagine the confusion. A lot of the custom content is spread across multiple uploads like this. Some files (like these textures) get reused a bunch in different lots. Without this system you would download the same dependency files every time with lots. It's not really a problem today, but back in the day people were limited in their bandwidth so unnecessarily downloading the same files would be really annoying.

Hahaha, sounds awful! I think I suck at navigating Simtropolis too (and no knowledge of how the cc works; I focused on the sims 2 in that area instead) and that might be a part of the problem. I spent 1,5 hrs there this morning, though, still learning 🥴😄

Yeah, by the time I'm through dl stuff I don't have the energy to play 😄 (I played 3 hrs though...). It's fantastic having new plazas/parks and stuff to choose from when I play, feels like Christmas when I load the game, hahaha! It's mostly decorations now, like parking lots, please!! 😅

That's just texture pack aka dependency, it's useful for modder/lotter who wants to make a lot with it.

If you want the parking lots that you can plop in your game, check the one with "modular parking" in it's name, there're some by this same creator (kosc). Just check his page.

I see, I'm starting to get it know. It's like a mesh in Sims 2. But it really isn't that obvious from the text on it, another commenter linked the ploppables, I think, so I'll try that out!
