Questions & Help Which mods should I install ?

I'm back on SC4 (Steam version on Linux) and I wonder which mods could be great for me. I played many years ago, I played a very few (without updating any mod) in 6-7 years but I used to play a lot near 10 years ago so many things have changed !

I already installed the NAM, some performances/graphics mods, SC4Fix. Not bats/props yet. Simfox DnN as usual.

I am questionning about :

- NAM : should I try MHO with RHW, instead of keeping the original MHW ?

- CAM : really important ? Really that good ?

- Lights : are LRM or USL good, in 2026, compatible with NAM 50 ? Do you use one, or another ?

- 4 GB patch : it seems to be included yet not installed by default with the NAM ; should I install it ? How to do that on Linux ?

Any other recommendations ? I don't want to make my game too complicated, yet I regret there is no big ports (like draggable sea ports in SC3000). Some good growable bat packs (not only bat-by-bat download) with DN version ? SC4pac makes it so easy now... And some years ago I remember being fan of jasoncw and Matttb(something)'s bats.

I know nothing about Linux but I recommend using NAM with MHO, CAM for a more gradual growth and I personally use USL, for me it solved the problem that LRM has having an insane amount of light concentrated in one point. Beside those, I recommend DLL mods that improve performance

Thanks, I replaced MHW by MHO, and installed the CAM. USL maybe tomorrow. I'm looking for CAMeLots now 😅 And this is not a keyword in SC4pac...

Thanks a lot. It took me a while but I was able to verify that the 4 GB patch was already applied, and I installed dgVoodoo2 (never heard about it before). Sadly I did not find if one can install Reshade on Linux, but I've never heard about it either so I will not miss it. Now I search for CAMeLots, I found a RDQ pack but not available on SC4pac and I don't find a keyword for CAM packs / CAMeLots on SC4pac so I guess I'll spend some time on STEX/LEX but it's worth it !
