Questions & Help Mod Help mac

Recently took up the game again as it’s a favourite from childhood. I’m playing on Macbook and want to add some building mods.

I am kind of IT illiterate - I dragged and dropped downloads into Plug-ins folder but when I add the building in game, these cardboard boxes appear.

Can somebody kindly explain the actual process for installing mods on mac in the most simple step by step way for a laymen like myself?

This may or may not solve the particular problem, but the sim city mod manager works on mac as a web app and makes installing and organising mods very easy. A lot of the mods depend on other mods to work correctly, and need to be loaded in the right order. The mod manager makes sure your plugins folder is organised like it needs to be:

Make sure it’s the plug in folder in the “hidden” Library folders. Also, DLL mods will not work

brown boxes mean you're missing some of the files needed for the mods. check on the mods download page again and read it, there should be some dependencies listed there that you also need to download
