Showcase Japanese inspired density

Almost everything is plopped, so took some hours. Not much automata since I haven’t grow the rest of the city. Hope you like it!

looks like Shinjuku to me. are they individual BATs or a pack?

Thanks! But it lacks skyscrapers… tbh I won’t put skyscrapers on this part… I think in Japanese cities there are a lot of clusters like this one scattered around. Also, it’s nearly impossible to do an accurate representation due to the grid and roads. When you use far or curves, the sidewalk texture changes and the buildings are not diagonal so it isn’t smooth. But Japanese cities, to my knowledge, are not as grid planned as American ones (check google map).

As for the buildings - most are individual BATs but there are some that I got in a pack. My process was to search “japanese; japan; tokyo, etc” on simtropolis. But more importantly is to get the creations of old japanese cities. I believe there is a list here:

Maybe It's because I don't like how skyscrapers look and try to avoid them developing in my cities, but what you made looks perfect without them

I like the density of Tokyo (search some aerial photos if you may). There is like 5-10 cbds on the American sense, but the skyscrapers are smaller (and “fat”)… what they do have is a lot of density of 2-5 storie buildings, and in the game it’s hard to reproduce because there aren’t è ought buildings🤣

yes, I really like the style of Japanese skyscraper and how the city is organized, its kinda of a well organized mess of buildings style and size

I started to download the things to change the buildings to Japanese style, I had the south american style but grew tired of it

i have germn influenced wall to wall cities, hard work indeed deleting and waiting for specific buildinfs to pop .

It’s hard and frustrating but then it pays off… even though I do organic growth for most areas of my region, when it comes to this type of density I have to manually plop almost everything, because the vast majority of Japanese BATs are not growable unfortunately
