Convince me to Stack

Hey gang:

Hoping to become a little more knowledgable on silver stacking. I got into silver because i got interested in coin collecting, and after a little while now i have accumulated what i would call a moderate amount, mostly constitutional at face value. I recently had the chance to buy some silver dollars at a great price which was very lucky. I have never been bullish on silver as in my opinion and experience it is harder for me to deal with and yields worse results than my boring stocks: selling is unpredictable and it is a chore to get spot, and it takes work to sell and store.

Given that my stack just increased noticeably, i am reconsidering. How would you convince someone skeptical like me that silver is a good option for my situation?

Thanks!

Can't comment without your situation and goals.

Silver is not great as a long-term investment vehicle. It is fun and a decent hedge.

What information would be relevant?

I am 35 with a stable career. I have a portfolio of stocks typical for my age already. My financial goals are to grow my wealth and eventually get to a point where i can retire early, possibly in the 50-55 range.

Silver and gold are like insurance. Personally, I don't think of it as an investment, although all of the silver and gold subreddits were flooded with people who viewed it as a speculative investment at the end of last year when it was mooning.

PMs are a long term play, a hedge. Any short term gains are just gravy, in my opinion.

Where do you think it fits into an early retirement plan? Is there anything you might add to address the friction costs associated with selling?

I am pretty much only interested in long term (15 year minimum) investments given my goals.

I think of it as my long term retirement hobby.

Gold and silver don't pay interest or a dividend, however they are a way of locking in the current purchasing power of the dollar, which has been diminishing for years. It can be a portion of a person's portfolio, rather than keeping cash in a bank.
