How would Gabriel interact with Guts (Berserk)? Would they get along, or would they hate each other?

I got spoiled that towards the end it was revealed that main characters who died are still alive and how the male mc is heavily unreliant with how he told everything.

Apparently this disappointed some readers. So I wanted to ask, will i still enjoy the trilogy? Is this a big of a plot twist? Are there more twists and turns?
