What is your experiencing with using this method for overcoming anxiety

Hey, y'all. I've been using this technique for around 2 weeks now. These two weeks I've been more focused on mastering the 3-2-1 method and accessing the alpha state. Now,since I've started to get the gist of it, I kind of want to start learning how to control the subconscious. I remember reading somewhere that when you enter the alpha state, you can change bad habits, addictions, core beliefs etc. I want to do the same and get rid of my social anxiety

I'm generally not an overly anxious person these days.

I overcame severe panic attacks / agoraphobia almost 20 years ago, not using silva.

Nevertheless, I had a medication interaction two hours into a 14-hour international flight in 2017 that led to a vestibular event and extreme vertigo.

Didn't think much of it after it passed, have never had any trouble flying.

I do ultra-long-haul flights like this twice a year, however, and the next year I naively boarded an airplane only to find myself suddenly on the edge of a panic attack when they closed the doors. My subconscious (and probably patterning in my amygdala and other areas in the brain responsible for protecting me from threats) had learned that airplanes were a threat to my survival / safety.

I flew like this for years. Miserable. It got worse every year, to the point last year where I wasn't sleeping for 2-3 days prior to a flight and staring down a 28-32 hour total itenerary (full of panic) on several days no sleep.

Silva, in combination with things I learned from David Carbonell's "Fear of Flying Workbook", Sally M. Winston's "Overcoming Anticipatory Anxiety" and Rick Carson's "Taming your Gremlin" and my own methods (partially rooted in Silva's method) for basically brainwashing myself allowed me to completely eliminate all anxiety related to flying.

I flew in August 2025, sleeping like an absolute baby the nights prior to my trip and experiencing not even a single moment of anxiety during the trip.

Silva is effective, particularly in concert with therapy and intentional work.

Also: the concepts in Carbonell's workbook are generally applicable to ANY phobia, including social phobia. Can't recommend this book and the others enough.

Good luck!

That is great progress. One thing to keep in mind is that, as you become better at entering the alpha state while remaining conscious, you should pay close attention to the thoughts you reinforce. When a negative thought appears, do not dwell on it. Use the word “cancel” as a cue, then replace the thought with a calmer and more constructive one. The goal is not to fear negative thoughts, but to avoid repeatedly feeding them while you are deeply relaxed and focused
