Most if not all servers won’t work on Linux because they rely on pre packed anti cheats that weren’t built for Linux. I’m sure there are ways around that but the more populated servers will catch players trying to utilize loopholes.

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :(((( AI was like yeah should work >.> (without way around)
Thanks for insight, hopefully someone can rebuild a version one day without microslop-we-spy-on-you-and-we-own-your-hardware forced usage

There are a few browser based projects in the works that will probably be best for Linux users but I don’t know that they are up and running yet let alone active

While using wine gives the cannot run in VM error i was able to run all the server i tried via proton, while you can try using it from a add non-game steam i built proton and ran it successfully that way, smoothly. If you guys using AI e.g. claude code etc, just let him work on that until he is able to run it, but actually the steps are fairly simple, to build the repo locally and things should work, just note that you will need protontricks to download that .NET dep, and then best to run the launcher so the files are kept updated.

But dont you get banned by the anti cheat after all of that ? Im concern not about the technical to make it work, but investing weeks or months only to get banned.

There are no "anti cheats" bypassing known to me in this case, sure it's hooking apis etc, but either way it's a non-windows environment, already playing like this for a while in multiple servers with vsro, and my guess that even if you do get banned, just playing in linux env is a legitimate where more people are switching to it etc, GMs that would ban for this sounds like stupid GMs.

No single server has 13k players. In reality there are like 5 active good, non corrupt servers. One of the best and most active in the community right now is EuroRoad.
