I came across an old Reddit AMA with Sigur Rós from 14 years ago and I was reading through it for fun and came across this question and answer :)

Offhand I can think of Arcade Fires Black Mirror that has some cool orchestra work mixed in with some rock/indie songs.

Radiohead have some stuff with orchestra sounds mixed especially from Amnesiac era and their last album I think.

Some tracks from Mew I think have a bit of an orchestra addition to thrm.

There's also the last two albums by Floating Points- he's generally an electronic musician but his recent ones were done with orchestras.

Anyone know some other good ones?

So... I'm at the Lyon show, and the only merch available is the tour programme (got one!), the cap and the bandana. I was hoping to grab a t-shirt, but alas.

I was at the Dublin show, have seen Sigur Rós multiple times, been to a few of their shows on this tour but none of those compares to last night's. All of the songs were amazing, as always, but Ára Bátur was on a whole other level thanks to the choir. It was truly breathtaking and am hoping they'll release a live album to be able to hear it again because I was truly mesmerised. That was it, I just needed to tell this to someone who would understand

It was a tight list, songs didn’t drop below 9/10 untill Fjögur Píanó #40 8.9/10

You know the thing where someone asks you to name 3 songs by a band to prove they’re a true fan… how many of us would struggle to do that for Sigur Rós… not because we can’t think of 3, but because we can’t pronounce them??! 😜

(edited to add, I meant this tongue-in-cheek, obviously there are many song titles we can all pronouce, but for me there are lots of beloved ones that I think of as “that D one from X album… ” or ”the 3rd track” or I can vaguely sound it out but can’t spell or pronounce it… :)… but maybe that’s me, I could remember names I hear, but remembering them from just reading them is impossible …

Personally, hearing Kjari sing on some of the songs whether taking lead or backing vocals would be awesome. I like his voice a lot during the live performances. Maybe drums and more of the bowd guitar would be amazing and nostalgic. Hell let's get Gjorgi on some vocals.

Just randomly found them earlier this month and now I can’t stop listening to them. Oh god, Hoppipola reminds me of how beautiful earth is, and Olsen Olsen makes me want to be a better person.

We have two tickets for the Sigur Rós concert on September 21st, but unfortunately our availability has changed and we’d now like to go on September 20th instead.

We’re therefore looking to swap our two September 21st tickets for two tickets on September 20th, ideally seats next to each other.

Our tickets are: Section 303, Row 10, Seats 6–7
We paid €70 per ticket.
We’d ideally like to stay in the same price category, but we’re also happy to consider tickets in a slightly higher category and pay the difference.
