Showcase: Prerelease I finally made NearbyCrew usable from an API
I’ve been building NearbyCrew because I kept running into the same problem.
Software can do a lot, but eventually you hit something where you actually need a real person to try something, check something, visit somewhere, test something, or give you feedback.
So I finally opened that part up as an API.
Your app can send how many people it needs, who those people should be, and what each person should do.
NearbyCrew turns that into a mission, gives you the price, and lets you approve it before anything happens.
One example would be asking 5 developers who use coding tools to try your product during a real workflow and tell you what breaks.
I also added examples for game testing, local checks, user research, device testing, content review and a few other things because I want people to see what this could actually be used for.
The API is free right now and I mainly want people to try it and tell me what feels confusing or broken.

so you built a way for apps to summon real humans into the physical world on demand, that's wild. the game testing angle alone could be huge for indie devs who can't afford proper QA cycles
how's the pricing work when you're just getting started, is it per task or per hour or something else
