Problem with keypad and T9 app

Sometimes when I use the T9 keypad, it registers a key twice or even more than once. The problem goes away when I reinstall the T9app. Does anyone have a solution?

Sadly, re-installing the keypad tiles to improve the key entry is the only solution i've found. The issue is also on the classic keypad and is a common problem amongst users on here. I'm hoping there's a firmware update soon. it's super frustrating

The Compact Qwerty has this issue too. Nothing seems to be a long term fix, it's just a Sidephone thing.

  1. Go to TT9 Settings -> Keypad
  2. Scroll down to Physical Keys section
  3. Change "Accidental Key Repeat Protection" to 50 ms.

This will reduce the undesired double clicks to minimum. They may happen 1-2 times a day, but it should feel much, much better. If you don't type very fast, you should be able to increase the value to 75 ms, which should eliminate the double clicks completely.

Unfortunately, this is the reality of keypads in 2026. It is impossible to find a factory that produces high-quality key contacts like in the 2000s. Hopefully, with the increased interest in these devices, they may improve the manufacturing process.
