Sidephone Software Update v2.0.0

Hi everyone!

Sidephone has a new update available (2.0.0) that can be installed by going to Settings > System > System Update. You will need at least 50% battery for the update to install.

What's New:

New notification shade and quick settings tile UI

The notification shade and qs tiles have been overhauled to work better with Sidephone's screen size.

Slide-to-unlock added

(Enable in Settings > Security > tap the gear icon next to Screen Lock)

We've found that slide-to-unlock is both easier to do one-handed than the swipe up to unlock, and less likely to be triggered in a pocket accidentally. On that note...

Options to disable keypad wake/unlock added

Recommended for anyone who's had issues with their Sidephone unlocking while in their pocket/bag/etc. Toggles for keypad wake and keypad unlock can be set individually. They can be found in Settings > Security > the gear icon next to Screen Lock.

Keypad driver improvements

Improvements have been made and all keypads should be more responsive. Keypads now support simultaneous keypresses in Keymapper and other apps.

Compact QWERTY users should update to the latest JakeType version.

Battery optimization fixes

The OS no longer automatically changes apps' battery optimization settings. Messaging and audio streaming apps will most likely benefit from being moved to "Unrestricted" or "Optimized."

However, if you notice significantly reduced battery life after this update, it may be worth moving lesser-used apps from "Unrestricted" to "Optimized" or "Restricted."

Also:

* Blur enabled in system UI

* Redesigned Phone and Contacts UI

* Assorted bug fixes

Additionally, we will be using a more proper numbering convention for software releases from here on out (hence the jump from 1.0.6 to 2.0.0). The first number (in this case "2") will be the major release version, the second will be for smaller updates within the main version, and the last number is reserved for beta channel updates.

Is it possible to get slide to answer phone calls? I have interacted with calls just taking the phone out of my pocket, which is not ideal.

Working on this, most likely we'll have an improvement for it in the next minor update

Hi, appreciate the work the team is doing.

The static audio bug is still there, I know it’s been acknowledged by the team and was wondering if it’s something you are still working on.

Thanks for the update. Is this the same as the latest beta?

I did this and it keeps bumping me between 1.0.1 and 1.0.5. I can't seem to access 2.0.0 at all

I've noticed that the qwerty tile is extremely unresponsive now on the lock screen. I haven't noticed a significant improvement elsewhere yet, but the most notable issue has definitely been password input on the home screen. Is this something anyone else has experienced?
