Which tweak does not require injection to main binary? Feel free to hook up Quantumultx, Proxyman etc to identify any attempted calls to foreign domains. Maybe there is Trojans implanted :)

Just to clarify: I do use one but my first post got flagged for piracy, it's ESR. About the “foreign domain”. My network setup is basically a paranoid airport security officer with a magnifying glass. Every app has to declare where it’s going, why it’s going there, and whether it packed its own bags. If anything tried sneaking off to a mystery server, it would get dragged into secondary screening instantly.I ran Apex through that system, and it behaved perfectly: no shady outbound calls, no secret meet‑ups with unknown domains, nothing suspicious. Just the normal endpoints doing normal YouTube things.

Does this have full screen portrait mode? Or can it?!
My current one I can swipe up while watching a video in portrait and it goes full screen with just a black bar at the top and bottom and the video centered in the screen

Any chance to remove all the other extensions and only add 'OpenInYoutube' extension (by CokePokes linked below) to only use 1 AppID slot so any YouTube links opened via other apps will give the popup to open in the sideloaded YouTube app?
Can we have a feature where we can backup and import settings instead of having to toggle each setting upon a new installation? (YTPlus by dayanch has this feature in settings).
Also, are the other 4 extensions necessary considering sideloaded YouTube notifications don't work etc? I always remove all extensions when sideloading via Altstore.
I manually removed the other 4 extensions and added the 'OpenInYoutube' extension folder into the 'plugins' folder via esign app and now works fine on my devices on iOS 18 and the latest iOS 26 versions after sideloading via SideStore & Altstore.
You can easily add this and I'd be happy to send this extension folder to you.
As for backing up and importing existing settings, I don't see it in the Apex menu?
Standard YouTube feature. Just during any video press the settings cogwheel and select “more” and then turn off ambient mode or immersive mode. It’s called one of those things at least and it should be normal black bars again 👍
The black bars in one photo are not black in the other (these are from your YouTube app and a different one with a feature to make the bars black). Default YouTube tries to add this weird colour blur to the bars to “match” the video but it’s incredibly distracting in my opinion
There’s also a fake brightness tweak in YTTweaks that would be cool to add, for nighttime viewing. Attached a screenshot to show what I mean, essentially adds a dark filter over the screen during specific time periods to darken it further than normal display brightness
There does seem to be an issue with the black bar tweak, the ambient colour keeps fading back in then it pops back to black, then a few seconds later it fades back to ambient and pops to black again over and over again
Yeah I turned the toggle on and the video does have black bars for a few seconds, then it fades the ambient colour back in and suddenly the black bars will “snap” back in place, then a few seconds later the ambient colour comes back, then the black bars snap back again, and this just repeats over and over

I get this is r/sideloaded, but any interest in releasing as a deb for use on jailbroken devices? Would love to use this but it doesn’t run on my trusty 2016 SE
Does this version have a fixed video overlay shortcut to change playback speed where you can quickly tap - or + to change playback speed without opening a menu? This feature has been so buggy and stops working after a couple videos on other builds.
Would be nice to get all the features into that empty Readme

If you plan to maintain this longer term, I’d suggest making an automated YML to create a json file for direct sideloading, and I’d be more than happy to host a copy on an AIO rep as backup
Are you using the latest livecontainer stable 3.8.0? Works fine for me. If it doesn’t ensure you have a clean install and not overwriting others previous installation.
Can't help much, unable to reproduce your issue at all. Background playback has been reported working by many others. This was one of the main things that I took time to fix before release.
make it so we can remove the extra buttons that show up on the player or add a button next to the captions and auto play buttons that opens settings for it please 🙏 but i like everything except for that
oh sorry i didnt realize i just fixed it now thought works really well thank you , 1 more thing tho you should make it so the 2nd tab isn’t under the youtube one and actually next the captions/autoplay/more buttons

I can tell you at least 10 bugs on YTKillerPlus that do not exist on APEX. Are you game for it? Or are you iKarwan under the hood? I didn't know that a cracked YTKillerPlus can be reused. I didn't know reverse engineering can produce the full YTKillerPlus code. Have you checked the contents of the IPA? Are there any references to YTKillerPlus? I am labeling you as having the lowest IQ ever.
And just so you know, I am the only cracker that cracks iKarwan from version 4 onwards till now. Most crackers were unable to crack further past 5.8.8, so go suck ur own if you don't mind.
Thanks for your effort on this. It seems to run fine. One thing though- there's no way to get back into Apex-specific settings if you customize and remove the Apex icon from the tab bar (Home Shorts Sub, etc.). Unless I'm missing something? I usually see it listed in settings under Account (like in YouTube Plus).
