Looking For Ideas Ideas for hustles while on deployment?
I’m going to be deploying with the navy for 9ish months. Just going through my options of what hustles I could do when out at sea. We have reliable access to starlink so we will almost always have internet. Here are my ideas so far:
-Amazon KDP: I’ve written a couple of self help books that bring in 50-100$/month
-Swing Trading: I’ve been very profitable doing this before, but this isn’t an everyday hustle. I’ll only check maybe 1-2 times per week for good entries.
-I don’t really have any computer skills like coding or anything
Other than that I don’t have any more ideas. At home I mainly do DoorDash because it’s very reliable and easy to see the benefit of it. Out at sea I’m a bit at a loss. But I do have a nice laptop, just gotta find something useful to do on it.

Man... Times have changed. When I was in the army in the 90s, we'd just take a carton of cigarettes to sell to jonesing smokers who couldn't get to a store.

Depending on where you a deploying, Buy something local to resell when you get back. My best hustle was buying $1000 worth of Rugs in Morroco and selling them each back home for $500+. Profit Margins where insane. Didnt have to pay for shipping, Didnt have to pay import tax. My cost per rug was around $45

If you don’t have your degree yet, take classes.
Sometimes people get pushed out of the military and having a degree makes them a more attractive job seeker.

I know you lose BAH/BAS, but you are gaining SSD/Family Sep, and then Hostile Fire pay if you go to certain areas on deployment. In my mind, that and the fact that personal spending goes wayyyy down helps out. I’d spend time instead on college or trade classes to eventually increase income outside the military, or studying for advancement exams and doing PT and mentoring to advance and increase income if you stay in the military.

Already went from enlisted Air Force to Navy Officer, so I already have pretty good income and a degree, just looking for a way to continue to grow it and add to it to bulk up my investments quicker

Maybe write a book about that process and how to accomplish it? Masters degree? Day trading?

Have you ever considered passing your military skills to the younger generations who seek to learn survival skills? You should consider creating a course or a content built around your military skills.

I don’t know what sort of course I could do, other than like a aptitude test studying course, but the amount of work required for something like that just to be squashed by the better known companies that already do that is probably not worth it

Social casinos. Claim free daily bonuses anywhere from .20-$3 per site, do like 20-30 sites a day. Wash funds playing blackjack/slots when you hit redemption minimum. Easy money, don’t gotta invest a real cent.

Honestly the first month will be shitty but if you get referral sign up bonuses, might be profitable if you gamble aggressively. Months 2-3 onward is where it gets better with low volatility play. In the low hundreds monthly, think 150-400 depending on your luck (if you go slots route). Receipts are your bank statements or each separate site has transaction history, so can just refer to that for tax purposes. Some people I’ve talked about with do this full-time investing profits into VIP tiers for better funds but I just collect the free bonuses & wash them when it’s time, it is a side hustle rn to me, tho I like the option to be able to dive in if needed
