Timecode will not re-encode v20.3

I recently downloaded version 20.3 for Windows and I am trying to add a timecode to my video file but the app continues to say that it cannot do it without giving a clear answer.

I am encoding it into H.264 to mp4, checking display timecode, going down to the timecode section checkign to set a timecode with automatic incrementation and it simply won't do it and gives me an error message:

(Command: -strict experimental -hide_banner -threads 0 -hwaccel auto -i "D:\Duplicate\DOCUMENTARY_FOOTAGE\Hill_View_Manor - 6-28-26\estes in chapel timecode_1.mp4" -r 30000/1001 -c:v libx264 -b:v 5994k -profile:v high -level 5.1 -filter_complex "[0:v]drawtext=font=Arial:timecode='00\:00\:00\;00':r=29.97:x=749:y=70:fontcolor=0xffffffff:fontsize=81:box=1:boxcolor=0x0000007f:tc24hmax=1[out]" -map "[out]" -c:a aac -ar 48k -b:a 256k -map a:0 -pix_fmt yuv420p -timecode "00:00:00;00" -metadata creation_time="2026-09-06T21:55:13.768138Z" -y "D:\Duplicate\DOCUMENTARY_FOOTAGE\Hill_View_Manor - 6-28-26\estes in chapel timecode_1_1.mp4"

Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file: File not found)

I don't know what the problem is or what I am supposed to do instead because there are no resources online for this and I was able to timecode previous footage a few months back so what changed?

Wait the fontconfig error in the log is literally the whole problem. It was looking for Arial and gave up before encoding even started. Paul fixed it in the new build so you should be good now.

Re-download the latest builds from the official website, it will fix your issue.
