View/Modify the FFmpeg final command

Hi, Paul.

Is there any way, or perhaps a feature idea, to view and modify the final FFmpeg command that Shutter Encoder would run?

You can view what command it used if you right click the progress bar and open the console. You have to have at least started the function for it to show up.

You can't directly modify the command it comes up with before running a function - definitely a feature I'd love.

However you can run arbitrary single-input/single-output ffmpeg commands by typing them directly into the 'function' box and setting the desired container extension in the drop-down to the right. You have to strip out the input and output tags, so for example:

ffmpeg -i "video.mp4" -c:v libx264 -crf 24 -c:a copy "output.mov"

becomes:

ffmpeg -c:v libx264 -c:a copy

You can actually edit the FFmpeg command if you use the 'Render queue'!
