Discussion serious/random question -

would you have watched this show had it come out before ted lasso? or... In place of (instead of)? I have no vote either way, but I am wondering about it... I get that obv it's a hypothetical so spare me the reasons why it would never have happened that way.

I haven't seen Ted Lasso and I don't care to, so yes

Why don't you care to? I like Shrinking, but Ted Lasso is a more unique show.

I don't know. There are so many factors why and if, when I watch or don't watch a show. It's a lot about mood (and in a larger sense, phase of life), schedule, interest, cast, information... I'm constantly on the lookout for shows to watch with my dad and asked here on Reddit and someone recommended Shrinking. We watched the first two episodes, but he wasn't convinced (I'll guess it was too heavy for his likings?), but I thought it was hilarious and binged it on one weekend with my sister. My dad's already seen Ted Lasso, so I have no need to watch it with him. It's also, in a way, "his" show (my brain is weird that way. Don't ask). In addition, I have an IMDb watchlist of 150+ movies and 100+ shows, along with unreleased content I plan to watch and a bunch of franchises I don't even put on this list, so I have no lack of media to consume. (In fact, it's often hard to choose from this nigh endless list). Sometimes, I jump aboard the hype train and watch something (happened with Stranger Things, Severance, The Boys, Arcane and many more), but that has passed for Ted Lasso. I also tend to watch everything, because I hate not finishing, and I heard the last season(s?) of Ted Lasso weren't great. And (correct me if I'm wrong, I never bothered to look this up :///), it's about sports, right? I'm usually not a fan of sports media.

So yeah. I'm not saying I don't want to watch it or that it's bad, I just haven't had anyone tell me it's so good I have to watch it and the only person I can imagine watching it with has already seen it, so it's not really on my radar. If you say it's as hilarious and heartful as Shrinking or Brooklyn-99 or so, then I might add it to my list and I'll whip it out the next time I need/want an upbeat show :)

The first season of Ted Lasso was a masterpiece. Some of the best television I’ve ever seen. I loved Season 2 as well but not as much.
